On the morning of April 24, continuing the First Session, with 490/490 delegates participating in the vote in favor, the 16th National Assembly passed a Resolution on the National Assembly's supervision program for 2027.
According to the Resolution just passed, at the third session (expected to take place in mid-2027), the 16th National Assembly will consider the Government's reports on:
Supplementary assessment of the results of implementing the socio-economic development plan (SOP) and the State budget (SBR) for 2026 (including content on the situation of state budget revenue and expenditure in 2026); the situation of implementing the socio-economic development plan and SBR in the first months of 2027.
The National Assembly will also supervise the implementation of thrift and anti-waste in 2026; the situation of implementing the national goal on gender equality in 2026; corruption prevention and control in 2026; crime and law violation prevention and control (including content on extradition); judgment enforcement in 2026; management, execution of temporary detention, temporary imprisonment and prohibition from leaving the place of residence in 2026; environmental protection in 2026; drug prevention and control in 2026.
The National Assembly will supervise the implementation of the National Assembly's resolutions on the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis; the investment project to build the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line; piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies, especially to develop the urban railway network system in Hanoi City, Ho Chi Minh City; Long Thanh International Airport project.
Also at the third session, the National Assembly will consider the report on the results of supervising the resolution of voters' petitions sent to the second session; consider the report of the Government, the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy on the results of resolving arising issues under the authority of the National Assembly when arranging the State apparatus; consider the 2026 work reports of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, the Ethnic Council, and the Committees of the National Assembly.
The National Assembly also conducted questioning and answering questions from National Assembly deputies at the 3rd Session.
At the fourth session, the 16th National Assembly will consider the Government's reports on the results of implementing the socio-economic development plan and state budget for 2027 (including content on the situation of state budget revenue and expenditure in 2027) and the socio-economic development plan and state budget estimates for 2028; and the plan for central budget allocation for 2028.
The implementation of the National Assembly's resolutions on the project to build the North-South Expressway in the East phase 2021-2025; the project to invest in the construction of Ring Road 4 - Hanoi Capital Region; the project to invest in the construction of Ring Road 3 HCMC; the project to invest in the construction of the North-South Expressway in the West section Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc); the project to invest in the construction of Ring Road 4 HCMC... were also considered by the National Assembly at the 4th Session.
The National Assembly will also conduct questioning and answering questions from National Assembly deputies; consider reporting on the results of the thematic supervision "The implementation of policies and laws on management and use of public assets as working headquarters after implementing the policy of arranging the organizational structure and administrative units" at the Fourth Session.
