On February 18, the National Assembly conducted the approval process to dismiss Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Minister of Science and Technology, and Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat from the position of Minister of Construction to take on other jobs.
The Resolution approving the Prime Minister's proposal to dismiss the positions of Minister of Construction and Minister of Science and Technology for the 2021-2026 term was approved by 428/429 delegates (accounting for 89.54% of the total number of National Assembly delegates).
The National Assembly also dismissed Ms. Nguyen Thuy Anh, member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, to take up the permanent position of the 14th National Party Congress's Socio-Economic Subcommittee.
This Resolution was passed with 458/458 delegates in favor (95.82% of the total number of National Assembly delegates).
Also on the same day, the National Assembly approved the appointment of 2 Deputy Prime Ministers including: Party Central Committee member Mai Van Chinh and Party Central Committee member, former Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung.
After the reform, the Government has 25 members. In which, the Government leaders include: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and 7 Deputy Prime Ministers: Nguyen Hoa Binh (Standing), Tran Hong Ha, Le Thanh Long, Ho Duc Phoc, Bui Thanh Son (and Minister of Foreign Affairs), Mai Van Chinh and Nguyen Chi Dung.
