With the addition of two Deputy Prime Ministers, the Government of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh currently has 7 Deputy Prime Ministers, namely Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh, Tran Hong Ha, Le Thanh Long, Ho Duc Phoc, Bui Thanh Son, Nguyen Chi Dung, Mai Van Chinh.
Regarding the new Government structure, the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Finance will merge into the Ministry of Finance. Mr. Nguyen Van Thang was appointed as Minister of this new ministry.
New Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung is 65 years old, from Ha Tinh; has a bachelor's degree in construction machinery, a doctorate in economic management; Central Committee member for the 11th to 13th terms; National Assembly delegate for the 14th and 15th terms.
Mr. Dung held many different positions at the Ministry of Planning and Investment for a long time before holding the position of Minister.
Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh is 64 years old, from Long An province. He has a master's degree in business administration, agricultural economics engineer, and is a member of the 10th Party Central Committee (invalid), 11, 12, and 13.
Mr. Chinh held many positions in Long An before becoming Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee and then Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Committee.
