On the afternoon of November 28, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man had a meeting with Cambodian King Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneat Norodom Sihamoni, who is on a state visit to Vietnam at the invitation of President Luong Cuong.
According to the National Assembly Office, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that this state visit by the Cambodian King brings to the Vietnamese people warm and friendly feelings, demonstrating the deep affection of the King and Cambodian people for the leaders and people of Vietnam.
King Norodom Sihamoni happily said that he and the Cambodian people still hold good feelings about the official visit to Cambodia by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his delegation, thereby contributing to strengthening the long-standing relationship between the two peoples, while opening up new cooperation in all fields between the two countries.
King Norodom Sihamoni said that this state visit to Vietnam by the King and his delegation is very important and has historical significance, aiming to further consolidate and expand the traditional friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two countries and peoples.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that generations of Vietnamese leaders and people always respect, remember and appreciate the good feelings and valuable support and assistance of the late Supreme King Norodom Sihanouk and King Norodom Sihamoni as well as generations of Cambodian leaders and people for the country and people of Vietnam in the past struggle for national independence as well as in the cause of national construction and development today.
The National Assembly Chairman hopes that, in his noble position, King Norodom Sihamoni will continue to foster the good relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia, and at the same time pay attention to supporting the extensive propaganda and education of the young generations of the two countries to deeply understand the bond and solidarity between the two countries and the two peoples.
“Personally, I will work with the Vietnamese National Assembly to do our best to continue to strengthen cooperation in legislation, supervision and decision-making on major national issues with the Senate and National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia,” National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized.
King Norodom Sihamoni expressed his deep gratitude to the Party, State and people of Vietnam for always supporting and helping Cambodia in difficult times, especially helping the Cambodian people escape the Pol Pot genocide regime in the past as well as in the cause of national construction and development today; he believes that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary To Lam, Vietnam will continue to develop comprehensively in all fields, contributing to consolidating and enhancing its prestige, position and role in the international arena, contributing to peace, stability and development of the ASEAN region and the world.
