From July 1, 2026, the Law on Saving and Combating Waste officially takes effect.
This law stipulates thrift and anti-waste in the fields of management and use of public finances, public assets; organizational structure and management and use of labor in the state sector.
At the same time, the Law also stipulates the management, exploitation and use of resources and energy; production, business and consumption activities of enterprises, organizations, households, and individuals.
Notably, this Law clearly states the rights of people fighting against wastefulness. In which, people fighting against wastefulness are informed about protection measures; rights and obligations when protection measures are applied.
Being applied timely protection measures, ensuring safety; being protected by their legitimate rights and interests and those of their loved ones according to the provisions of law.
People who fight against wastefulness are also proposed to change, supplement, and terminate the application of protection measures or refuse to apply protection measures.
At the same time, they are compensated according to the provisions of law when the competent authority does not apply protection measures or does not apply them in time, causing damage to the life, health, property, and spirit of the person fighting against waste or relatives.
In addition, people who fight against wastefulness also have the obligation to properly implement regulations on reflection, denunciation, and denunciation that do not affect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of organizations and individuals.
Must comply with the requirements of competent agencies, organizations, and individuals in protecting and providing relevant information and documents; be responsible for accuracy and truthfulness in providing information and documents to fight against wastefulness.
Provide a basis (if any) to determine the threat, persecution, retaliation or infringement of their legitimate rights and interests and those of their loved ones.
Comply with the settlement conclusions of competent organizations, agencies, units and other relevant regulations.
In addition, the Law also clearly states cases where people fighting against waste are not protected, and the protection is terminated.
Typically, the protected person has a written request to terminate or refuse to apply protection measures, does not cooperate with competent authorities in the process of implementing the request for protection or does not comply with the obligations according to regulations.
The content of the fight against wastefulness has been verified and confirmed by competent authorities, concluding that it is unfounded and untrue.
The basis for applying protection measures is no longer valid; other cases not protected, termination of protection according to the provisions of law.
Regarding prohibited acts in protecting people fighting against waste such as taking advantage of the fight against waste to slander agencies, organizations, and other individuals.
Using violence, pressure, slander, isolation, insult or infringement of the legitimate rights and interests of people fighting against waste and their loved ones.
Illegally infringing upon houses, residences, occupying, destroying property, insulting personal dignity, honor or having acts affecting the health and personal safety of people fighting against waste and relatives.
Revenge or hire, ask, incite others to threaten the spirit, retaliate against those who fight against waste and relatives...
