On December 15, sharing information at a press conference about the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union (VYU), term 2024 - 2029, Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy - Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union - said that the Congress will take place over 2 days (from December 17-18) at the National Convention Center.
The congress was attended by 980 official delegates who are officials, members, and outstanding young people in various fields, representing nearly 21 million members and young people in Vietnam.
The title of the political report presented to the Congress is: "Building a generation of young people with revolutionary ideals, patriotism, self-reliance, aspiration, dedication, solidarity, and confidence to enter the new era".
The solemn session of the Congress took place on the morning of December 18.
The Congress will comprehensively evaluate the implementation of the Resolution of the 8th National Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Youth Union, term 2019 - 2024 in all aspects of work.
With the slogan of action "Vietnamese Youth: Patriotism - Aspiration - Solidarity - Pioneering - Creativity - Confidence in entering the new era", the Congress is expected to identify 10 key targets to be implemented in the period of 2024 - 2029.
Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Tuong Lam said that the Organizing Committee has applied artificial intelligence (AI) technology to the design, content development of publications, and the preparation stage for the congress.
The Vietnam Youth Union is researching and discussing the establishment of the "I Love My Fatherland" fund in the next term, to mobilize social resources to accompany and support young people, and carry out projects and tasks for the community. From this fund, the Union will be proactive and provide better support for young people.
The Organizing Committee said that within the framework of the Congress, in addition to the agenda, delegates attending the Congress will visit the Vietnam Military History Museum; offer incense at the Bac Son Monument to Heroes and Martyrs; hold a ceremony to report achievements and visit President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum.
Before the opening session of the Congress, an exhibition titled “Vietnamese Youth – Confidently Entering a New Era” will open at the National Convention Center. On the afternoon of December 17, delegates attending the Congress will be divided into 6 discussion groups with specific topics.
