On October 18, at Ly Tu Trong Flower Garden (Tay Ho District, Hanoi), Youth Union members and young people of the capital came to offer incense and flowers in gratitude to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the birth of the first communist youth union member Ly Tu Trong (October 20, 1914 - October 20, 2024).
During the peak of the anniversary, many activities were organized by the Youth Union at all levels across the country and in Ha Tinh. It is expected that on October 20, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union will coordinate with Ha Tinh province to organize a scientific seminar "The spirit of Ly Tu Trong - the aspiration of the youth". From October 18-20, the agencies will organize an exhibition about the life, contributions and heroic sacrifices of the patriotic young man Ly Tu Trong for the cause of national liberation.
According to the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, following the example and footsteps of Ly Tu Trong, generations of Vietnamese youth united under the glorious flag of the Party to contribute to the August Revolution of 1945, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
During the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, generations of Vietnamese youths followed each other on the battlefield with the spirit of "Determination to die for the Fatherland, determination to live", "Splitting Truong Son to save the country", contributing to the great victory, gaining independence and freedom for the Fatherland and unifying the country.
During that long resistance war, many examples of resilient and brave youth emerged, such as: Tran Van On, Vo Thi Sau, La Van Cau, Cu Chinh Lan, Nguyen Thi Chien, Be Van Dan, Phan Dinh Giot, To Vinh Dien...; along with millions of union members and young people participating in the "Three Ready" and "Five Volunteers" movements. From the patriotic emulation movements, many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements emerged.
Peace has been restored, and the country has entered a period of national renewal. Generations of young people have strived to overcome difficulties and challenges, nurturing great dreams and ambitions. The revolutionary path of previous generations and comrade Ly Tu Trong has been and is guiding the young generation today to be proactive, volunteer, and take the lead in all fields.
Faced with the requirements of the period of accelerating industrialization and modernization of the country, the fourth industrial revolution and the integration process that creates both opportunities and challenges for all countries, it requires Vietnamese youth today to continue to promote the spirit of vanguard, volunteerism, creativity and responsibility in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, especially in international integration, national digital transformation, contributing to realizing the country's development goals by 2030, with a vision to 2045.
Secretary of the Central Agencies Youth Union Bui Hoang Tung said that the Central Agencies Youth Union recently organized the Forum “The Spirit of Ly Tu Trong and Youth Aspirations in the New Era” on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of Comrade Ly Tu Trong’s birth. The Forum recorded many contributions, aroused patriotism, national pride, and raised the thinking and awareness of young people about the “new era, the era of rising up” of the Vietnamese nation.
