On June 25, Mr. Tran Van Lau - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province inspected the field work of preparing for the trial operation of the new commune and ward-level government in Chau Thanh, Long Phu, Tran De districts and Vinh Chau town.
At the inspection point at the Department of Receiving and Returning Results of Administrative Procedures of Chau Thanh District People's Committee, where the Phu Tam Commune Public Administration Service Center (new) is expected to be located, the system of facilities, equipment, machinery and transmission lines are assessed to be guaranteed and ready to serve the people.
However, in many other localities, preparation work still faces many difficulties. In Truong Khanh commune (new), the public administrative center is temporarily located at the old one-stop department of the commune, so the area is narrow. Localities such as Vinh Phuoc ward, Lai Hoa commune (Vinh Chau town) and Tai Van commune (Tran De district) also recorded similar cases.
The staff assigned to the new commune are still working in the province, and have not temporarily returned to the locality, so they cannot test the apparatus at the facility.
In this situation, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Lau requested localities to urgently overcome difficulties, coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs to complete personnel work, organize the apparatus and conduct a full trial operation before July 1, 2025.
Mr. Lau especially noted that the testing must be implemented substantially, including organizing meetings of the Standing Committee, Executive Committee, People's Councils of communes and wards, developing and approving resolutions, working regulations and assigning specific tasks. The goal is to ensure that the new government apparatus operates smoothly immediately after the merger, without interruption of work, especially procedures that directly affect people and businesses.
On the side of the Public Administration Service Center, the Provincial Chairman requested the new communes and wards to carefully review the location of the arrangement, prioritize the arrangement of independent and regulating places, fully invest in equipment, stable transmission systems, and arrange staff with expertise in digital transformation. At the same time, it is necessary to establish a support team at the center to directly guide people to carry out procedures quickly and conveniently.
