Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has signed and issued Official Dispatch No. 248/CD-TTg of the Prime Minister on ensuring traffic order and safety during the New Year holiday of 2026.
The telegram stated that to serve the travel needs of people, maintain smooth transportation activities, ensure traffic order and safety (TTATGT), and minimize traffic accidents and traffic congestion during the New Year holiday of 2026, the Prime Minister requested:
Ministries and agencies, according to their assigned functions and tasks, strengthen transport vehicles to serve the travel needs of the people, especially public passenger transport to connect and support passengers to travel conveniently at railway stations, airports, bus stations, and train stations.
Overcome and limit phenomena of price gouging, taking advantage of price increases that are not in accordance with regulations to better serve people's travel needs, and prevent traffic accidents during Tet.
The Health sector and localities ensure forces, vehicles, medical supplies, and medical emergency capacity, especially on key traffic routes and areas with high traffic volume to minimize human losses due to traffic accidents.
The Public Security sector strengthens forces and vehicles to patrol, control, and strictly handle violations of traffic order and safety; pay attention to controlling violations of alcohol concentration, speed, tonnage, and safety conditions of vehicles and drivers; pay attention to patrols and controls to ensure traffic order and safety even on newly put into use roads.
The Construction sector directs the Departments of Construction of provinces and cities to coordinate with functional forces of the Public Security sector and local authorities to maintain inspection of transport business activities, especially contract vehicles and fixed-route passenger cars.
Direct transport business units and bus stations to resolutely not bring unsafe vehicles into transport business, pay attention to preventing traffic accidents right from the departure point and be responsible if complicated transport operations or traffic accidents occurred due to transport activities.
Promote information and propaganda work, in which focus on strengthening the duration and content of propaganda on traffic order and safety.
Persistently propagate to the team of transport business drivers and people about implementing traffic safety rules "Having drunk alcohol and beer - do not drive"; "Do not use phones when driving"; "Wear seat belts when sitting in cars", "Comply with speed regulations"...; propagate to support the process of performing tasks of functional forces performing tasks to ensure traffic order and safety.
Regularly and promptly update the situation of traffic accidents, traffic congestion, high risks of road traffic accidents, level crossings through railways, inland waterways, main traffic routes, key traffic hubs, areas organizing events and festivals.
Ministries, branches, and localities maintain hotline phone numbers to ensure traffic order and safety to receive and promptly handle people's reflections during holidays; assign competent focal points to organize duty according to the 24/7 regime.
Report on the situation of ensuring traffic order and safety during the New Year holiday of 2026 to the National Traffic Safety Committee before 2:30 PM on January 4, 2026 to summarize and report to the Prime Minister.
