This morning (December 19), at Gia Lam airport (Long Bien district, Hanoi), the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024 officially opened solemnly.
Attending the opening ceremony were Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh; Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang; Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang.
Also attending the opening ceremony were leaders of the Party, State, ministries, branches, and international guests. Also attending the opening ceremony were businesses and defense units participating in the exhibition.
The Vietnam International Defence Expo 2024 will be held from December 19 to 22, with the highlight being the grand opening ceremony with a special art performance and a welcome flight by the Vietnam Air Force, Special Forces performing martial arts and Border Guard Dogs demonstrating professional skills...
The art program of the opening ceremony of the exhibition had the theme "Vietnam - Peace, cooperation, development together" with 2,000 officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) performing. Along with that, the Vietnam Air Force flew a welcome flight, the Vietnam People's Army Special Forces, and Border Guard Military Dogs performed to welcome the exhibition.
At the outdoor exhibition area, American, Russian and Italian arms companies and corporations have completed and fully displayed their weapons and equipment.
The indoor exhibition area, the exhibition booths of corporations and defense industry companies are ready to welcome visitors and meet partners... The area on both sides of the stands is arranged with a large LED screen system, creating a highlight in the opening ceremony area and convenient for observation.
The Vietnam International Defence Expo 2024 is held concurrently with activities and events on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day; it is a key activity, a highlight of international significance and stature.
The exhibition area has a total area of over 100,000m2 with an indoor display area of 15,000m2 (double that of the 2022 exhibition) and an outdoor area of over 20,000m2.
The exhibition aims to strengthen and expand international cooperation and defense diplomacy, build trust between Vietnam and countries around the world; share defense foreign policies and guidelines; advocate building the army and developing the defense industry; create conditions for countries, companies, and domestic and international enterprises to introduce and display products, and seek opportunities to expand cooperation.
Along with that, the exhibition contributes to strengthening international cooperation in defense industry, diversifying cooperation channels for purchasing, receiving, and transferring technology to produce technical equipment and logistics equipment to meet the requirements of armed forces; learning about the development trends of weapons and technical equipment in the world to propose, select, purchase, produce, and improve weapons and equipment for the army; promoting and propagating the capacity, technological potential, and weapons and equipment produced by Vietnam's defense industry to international friends and domestic people; seeking opportunities to export defense industry products.
People and tourists can enter the Vietnam International Defence Expo 2024 for free from 9:00 a.m. on December 21, instead of 1:30 p.m. as originally scheduled.
