Prime Minister holds talks with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia

The two leaders agreed to identify the pillars of Vietnam - Saudi Arabia's "future cooperation" as innovation, green transformation, and digital transformation.

On the afternoon of October 29, local time, within the framework of attending the 8th Future Investment Initiative Conference (FII8) and visiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had talks with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

According to the Government Newspaper, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman expressed his pleasure to welcome Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and warmly welcomed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to attend and speak as the main guest of the FII8 Conference.

The Crown Prince and Prime Minister affirmed that the participation of Vietnam, a typical country in dynamic economic development in Asia, opens up new opportunities for investors, making an important contribution to the success of the conference and to the development strategy in the region.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed the regards and invitations of General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to King Salman bin Abdullaziz and invited Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to pay an official visit to Vietnam at a suitable time.

Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman sincerely thanked the Vietnamese leaders for their greetings to King Salman bin Abdullaziz and affirmed that he will soon visit Vietnam in the near future.

The two leaders highly appreciated the remarkable developments in bilateral relations between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia over the past 25 years and agreed to cooperate closely to bring the bilateral relationship to new heights.

On that basis, the two leaders agreed to make economic cooperation a key pillar in bilateral relations, making Saudi Arabia one of the leading investors in Vietnam and aiming to increase bilateral trade turnover to over 10 billion USD by 2030.

The two leaders agreed to identify the pillars of "future cooperation" between the two countries as innovation, green transformation, and digital transformation; making education, tourism, labor and people-to-people exchange a solid foundation for the relationship between the two countries.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh encouraged Saudi Arabia to invest in strategic, iconic and breakthrough projects in Vietnam; consider building a transit and storage center for crude oil and petrochemical products in Vietnam for export to markets in Southeast Asia; exploit the potential for developing Vietnam's Halal industry, considering this a key task, both contributing to ensuring food security for Saudi Arabia and opening up opportunities to exploit Vietnam's potential Halal market; connect innovation centers of the two countries; coordinate in organizing international technology exhibitions; cooperate in building an innovation ecosystem in Vietnam and share experiences in building an international financial center in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia agreed with the proposals of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and suggested that both sides direct ministries and sectors to continue discussions to concretize cooperation proposals and realize bilateral cooperation potential.

During the talks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assigned the ministers participating in the delegation to immediately promote exchanges with Saudi Arabian partners to concretize the results of the discussions between the two leaders.
