At the Phong Chau pontoon bridge area, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised the sense of responsibility and efforts to overcome difficulties of officers and soldiers of Brigade 249 who have promptly mobilized forces, actively prepared, organized the construction of the pontoon bridge and ensured traffic through the bridge and ferry for millions of cars, motorbikes, rudimentary vehicles and people to cross the bridge smoothly in harsh climate conditions for nearly a year, since the Phong Chau bridge collapsed.
"The image of the Engineering soldier on the Phong Chau pontoon bridge has left a very good impression on the people; the work of the Engineering Corps in general and the 249th Brigade in particular is a quiet work but is of great significance, contributing to the economic and social development and ensuring security and national defense of the country" - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized.
The Prime Minister's visit is not only a timely encouragement but also shows the deep concern of the Party and State for the armed forces in general and the Engineering Corps in particular. This attention is a great motivation for the officers and soldiers of Brigade 249 to continue promoting the tradition of " Opening the way to victory" of the heroic Vietnamese Engineering Corps, excellently completing all assigned tasks.
