On August 9, inspecting the construction of the 500kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen line at the VT404 pole foundation (Thai Hoa commune, Phu Tho) and the VT369 pole foundation (Dan Chu commune, Phu Tho), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised the enthusiastic, proactive and determined labor spirit of localities and forces participating in the project.

The Prime Minister noted that units should pay attention to, care for the lives, and maintain the health of workers in the current hot weather conditions. The Ministry of National Defense directed Military Region 2 to arrange military forces to deploy logistics work for construction such as setting up field fields to support workers in all weather conditions; supporting food, drinking water, pulling ropes, etc.

"Units apply and promote good experiences from the construction of the 500kV line 3 Quang Trach - Pho Noi to quickly construct the 500kV line Lao Cai - Vinh Yen" - the Prime Minister emphasized.

After inspecting the construction site, right in Dan Chu commune, the Prime Minister had a working session with leaders of ministries, branches, Vietnam Electricity Group and leaders of Lao Cai and Phu Tho provinces to resolve difficulties and problems, determined to complete the project "as soon as possible".
Reporting to the Prime Minister, Mr. Dang Hoang An - Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) - said that the project's site clearance work has completed 468/468 pole foundation locations; handed over the route corridor with 196/242 anchorages, reaching 81%. The construction units have completed 468/468 pole foundation locations; installed 306/468 steel column locations, and are transporting, gathering and installing the remaining 162 locations. Along with that, the rope is being spread and pulled at 22/242 anchorage areas.
"During the project construction process, there were some difficulties. For example, difficulties due to weather conditions, high and rugged terrain, sloping, muddy and slippery construction roads. The project also encountered difficulties in human resources, the contractor's labor force did not meet the project's needs in the conditions of high construction demand, short time and simultaneous implementation of many tasks. In addition, difficulties in site clearance have not been completed, and some households have even caused difficulties and obstructed construction" - EVN representative reported.

At the working session, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested that the project must be completed by August 19, 2025 to enhance the safe and stable operation of the National Power System, unblock the capacity of hydropower plants in the Northwest region and neighboring provinces, promote socio-economic development, urban development, industry and services.
Therefore, the relevant entities "are determined, are even more determined; have tried, are trying more; have been determined, are more determined; have focused on focusing, are more focused, are more focused". Thereby, promoting the assurance of progress, quality, technique, art, labor safety, environmental protection along the entire route; ensuring the material and spiritual life, legitimate rights and interests of people affected by the project, the new place is better than the old place.
The Prime Minister requested the entire political system to get involved, promoting the mastery of the people.
The Prime Minister directed the establishment of a forward command team to direct the implementation of the project, led by the Chairman of the EVN Board of Members, the Standing Deputy Head of the Team is the General Director of EVN, members are the two Secretaries of Lao Cai and Phu Tho Provincial Party Committees, Deputy Ministers of National Defense, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, leaders of Military Region 2 and coordinated closely, synchronously, smoothly and effectively.

The 500 kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen Line project has a total investment of more than VND 7,410 billion, with a total length of about 229.5km passing through 31 communes in Lao Cai and Phu Tho provinces, with a total of 468 electric pole foundation locations. The project affects 2,189 households, of which 213 households must be resettled.
