On September 3, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting of the Government Standing Committee to give opinions on reports on socio-economics, state budget and public investment to prepare for reporting to competent authorities.
According to the report at the meeting, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, the whole country simultaneously started construction and inaugurated 250 typical works and projects with a total investment of about 1.28 million billion VND.

The Prime Minister has directed the drastic reform of administrative procedures, reducing business conditions; operating local governments at 2 levels; chairing conferences with businesses and working with many large global enterprises, removing obstacles for projects; solving environmental pollution, preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and storm No. 5...
Thanks to that, the socio-economic situation continues to be a positive trend, achieving many outstanding results, quite comprehensive, being trusted, highly appreciated and actively participated by people, businesses and investors.
However, the tasks in the last months of the year are still very challenging, requiring all levels, sectors and localities to be more proactive, resolute and closer to complete the assigned tasks.
In his concluding remarks, the Prime Minister analyzed a number of additional contents on the assessment of the situation, direction, management, and policy response in August and the past; outstanding results in socio-economics, limitations, and shortcomings.
At the same time, analyze the causes, lessons learned; forecast the situation in the coming time; key tasks and solutions, breakthroughs in September and the fourth quarter in various fields.
In the coming time, the Prime Minister requested ministries and branches to continue to resolutely, comprehensively and effectively implement laws, resolutions, conclusions and instructions of the Party Central Committee, Politburo, Secretariat, and National Assembly; review all targets for 2025 and 5 years to continue to strive to achieve and exceed; promote growth drivers, strive to achieve GDP growth in 2025 from 8.3-8.5%.
The head of the Government also requested the completion of assigned projects and tasks, especially the development, completion and submission to promulgation, organization of implementation of the Politburo's resolutions on education - training, people's health care, state economy, cultural development; organization of the opening ceremony of the new school year; preparation to serve the Central Conference and National Assembly Session well.
Commenting on reports on the state budget and public investment, the Prime Minister emphasized the requirement to collect correctly, collectively, promptly, prevent loss of revenue and increase spending savings.
New goals and new requirements in public investment in the coming period require continuing to innovate thinking and methods, especially focused and key investments, not spreading, avoiding waste, focusing on projects of the nature of "turning the situation around, changing the state".
