On January 15, at the Presidential Palace, President Luong Cuong received Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and a delegation of the Government of the Russian Federation.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Luong Cuong and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin expressed satisfaction with the positive developments in Vietnam-Russia relations in recent times in all fields: politics, economics - trade, investment, energy - oil and gas, science - technology, education - training, culture and other fields.
The two leaders emphasized that regular exchanges and contacts at all levels, especially at high levels, demonstrate political trust between the two countries, which is the basis for promoting cooperation in other fields; they believe that the two sides need to continue to make efforts to maintain and promote the rapid growth of bilateral trade, while making the most of the potential, strengths and experience of cooperation between the two countries over the past 75 years to deepen relations in other fields, be more substantive, effective and mutually beneficial. President Luong Cuong supported the two governments in resolving outstanding issues in cooperation.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin emphasized that Russia always considers Vietnam one of its important partners in the Asia-Pacific region, especially in Southeast Asia, and wishes to further develop bilateral cooperation areas with Vietnam in which both sides have strengths and needs, in order to meet the aspirations of the people of both countries and the development requirements of each country.
President Luong Cuong affirmed that Vietnam consistently pursues an independent, self-reliant, multilateral and diversified foreign policy, in which Russia is one of the top priorities; affirmed that the Party, State and People of Vietnam always remember the valuable support and assistance that the people of the former Soviet Union gave Vietnam in the cause of national construction and defense, always attach importance to the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and wish to continue developing the traditional friendship with Russia for the development interests of the two countries and the prosperity of the two peoples.
President Luong Cuong thanked the Russian leaders and government for creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, study and work stably in Russia; proposed that the Russian Government continue to provide annual scholarships for Vietnamese students to study at Russian educational and training institutions, especially in basic sciences, academic arts, etc.; hoped that Russia would promote cooperation with Vietnam in promising areas such as digital transformation, digital technology industry, digital economic development, digital society, green transformation, artificial intelligence, etc.
The two leaders agreed to continue promoting cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, especially between the two countries' young generations, in the coming time to enhance understanding. President Luong Cuong and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin agreed to jointly organize meaningful activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and educate the younger generation about traditions.
