Russia invites General Secretary to attend 80th anniversary of Victory Day

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin reiterated the Russian President's invitation to General Secretary To Lam to attend the 80th anniversary of the Victory and visit Russia in 2025.

On the afternoon of January 14, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam had a cordial reception for Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, who is on an official visit to Vietnam.

According to VNA, General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the significance of the visit and welcomed the results of the talks and meetings with senior leaders of Vietnam; he said that the visit was very important, taking place on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and was Mr. Mishustin's first visit to Vietnam as Russian Prime Minister.

General Secretary To Lam expressed his delight at the results of cooperation between the two countries achieved in recent times, especially after the state visit to Vietnam by Russian President Vladimir Putin in June 2024.

The General Secretary said that this visit by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin is to continue realizing the cooperation contents that the two sides have achieved and to set out major directions to promote bilateral relations.

General Secretary To Lam conveyed warm greetings and New Year wishes to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chairman of the United Russia Party, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federal Security Council Dmitry Medvedev and Russian leaders.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that Vietnam always remembers the valuable and wholehearted support and assistance that the Soviet and Russian people have given Vietnam during the difficult years of resistance war, as well as in the cause of national construction and defense; affirmed that Vietnam attaches special importance to the traditional relationship, the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Russia, and always considers Russia a leading important partner in Vietnam's foreign policy. General Secretary To Lam outlined a number of major directions to further deepen the Vietnam - Russian Federation relationship in the coming time.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin respectfully conveyed the cordial greetings of Russian President Vladimir Putin and senior leaders of the Russian Federation to General Secretary To Lam and respectfully reiterated the invitation of the Russian President to General Secretary To Lam to attend the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and pay a bilateral visit to the Russian Federation in 2025.

Prime Minister Mishustin sincerely congratulated Vietnam on its recent socio-economic achievements and expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary To Lam, Vietnam will continue to reap many successes in bringing the Vietnamese nation into a new era of strong, prosperous development.

Informing the General Secretary about the results of his talks with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin affirmed that the Russian side highly appreciated the efforts of the Vietnamese side in removing difficulties and promoting bilateral cooperation in recent times, helping the two countries' relations achieve remarkable achievements in all fields.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin shared that in the context of many fluctuations and complex developments in the world and the region, Russia always cherishes the friendship and loyalty of the Vietnamese people towards Russia; affirmed that in its foreign policy, Russia always considers Vietnam as one of its most important priority partners in the Asia-Pacific region, especially in Southeast Asia, and is ready to expand cooperation, further deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in all areas of economy - trade, energy, defense, security, science - technology, culture, education and people-to-people exchange.

In an open and friendly atmosphere, General Secretary To Lam and Russian Prime Minister Mishustin shared some major features of the situation in each country and agreed on some major orientations to further deepen the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.
