The above content was emphasized by Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh when giving a speech at the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) on September 7, 1945-7-9/2025 and receiving the Ho Chi Minh Medal for the third time, taking place on the morning of September 7.
The Prime Minister recalled that after the success of the August Revolution and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh urgently directed the establishment of a national radio station.
At exactly 11:30 a.m. on September 7, 1945, the National Radio Station broadcast the official news for the first time with a proud address: "This is the Voice of Vietnam broadcast from Hanoi, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam".
The Prime Minister expressed that the instructions always arouse revolutionary enthusiasm, patriotism and excitement and pride in the hearts of millions of Vietnamese people. The Vietnamese voice is the voice of justice, the voice of an independent country, the strength and will of a heroic nation.
"Over the past 80 years, the Voice of Vietnam has always rang far and high, going through a journey full of hardship but very proud, heroic, and glorious to achieve the independence - freedom - happiness of the nation; is the voice of pain, torment, and fighting; is the voice of hope and faith; is the voice of conscience and human dignity; is the voice of national love, compatriotism; is the voice of aspiration, love for peace and international friendship and solidarity; is the voice that motivates and inspires many generations of Vietnamese people through the heroic revolutionary historical periods of the country" - the Prime Minister expressed.

The Prime Minister acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts, intelligence, dedication and important contributions of generations of cadres, reporters, editors, technicians, announcers, artists, and workers of VOV to the Vietnamese revolutionary press and ideological and cultural work, contributing to the great achievements in the glorious and heroic revolutionary cause of our Party, State, and people.
In order for VOV to better fulfill its mission and further promote its role and significance for all aspects of social life in the new situation, the Prime Minister suggested that VOV must clearly define its vision, develop specific strategies, programs and plans to realize its aspirations, and be determined to become one of the leading radio stations in the region, continue to maintain and further promote the responsibility of "The Voice of Vietnam" to look beyond, think deeply and make big.
In particular, according to the Prime Minister, it is necessary to focus on implementing well the two key points.
One is to promote revolutionary traditions, the spirit of self-reliance and self-strengthening; make outstanding efforts to adapt promptly to changes of the times; take advantage of opportunities, develop strongly, raise the position, brand and prestige of the Station.
Two is to take the audience as the center, digital transformation as the foundation, high-quality human resources as the driving force; improve capacity and strongly apply science, information technology, and modern communication with the spirit of resources originating from thinking, motivation originating from innovation and strength originating from the people.
