The 72nd anniversary of Uncle Ho's visit to Hung Temple and the inauguration of the "Uncle Ho with the Mountains and Rivers Festival" Monument is an event organized by Phu Tho province in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security.
This is an event of profound historical and cultural significance, an occasion to respectfully express gratitude for the merits of the Hung Kings, remember and express gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh. Thereby, fostering patriotism, national pride, and the sense of responsibility of each generation in building and protecting the Fatherland.
Presenting the commemorative speech, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong affirmed that Hung Temple is a sacred symbol of the nation's origin; a place where generations of Vietnamese people respectfully remember and appreciate the merits of the Hung Kings in building the country.
72 years ago, after the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory, on the way from the Viet Bac war zone to take over the Capital Hanoi, on September 19, 1954, at Gieng Temple, during a speech and assignment of tasks to officers and soldiers of the Pioneer Army Division, President Ho Chi Minh advised: "The Hung Kings have contributed to building the country, Uncle and grandchildren must join hands to defend the country".

From Hung Temple, Uncle Ho's advice has become a sacred call, nurturing the will and responsibility of generations of Vietnamese people in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland; affirming the truth of "building the country associated with defending the country" throughout the nation's historical process, from the Hung Kings era to the Ho Chi Minh era.
In 1962, during his second visit to Hung Temple, President Ho Chi Minh continued to instruct to pay attention to protecting and planting more flowers and trees so that Hung Temple would become more solemn and beautiful, becoming a historical park for future generations.
Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong emphasized that, with boundless love and gratitude for President Ho Chi Minh, the Ministry of Public Security decided to award Phu Tho province the statue "Uncle Ho with the festival of the country" at the Hung Temple Special National Historical Relic Site - a place marked by his two visits and leaving profound reminders.

The statue is cast in bronze, 7.5m high, representing the image of President Ho Chi Minh sitting on a natural block stone pedestal; placed at Phan Bung hill, facing the painting "Moon and River Festival on the Earth of the ancestors", creating a meaningful connection between the image of President Ho Chi Minh and the image of the mountain and river festival at the origin of the nation.
The entire project is built on an area of 7.6 hectares, in the protection area II - which is the buffer zone of the Relic Site, ensuring no impact on the protection area I - which is the core zone of the Relic Site - where the original elements that create the special historical and cultural value of Hung Temple are preserved. The monument is placed in a solemn, prominent position but does not obscure the view of the main temples. The reliefs, stands, walking paths, trees and auxiliary blocks are invested synchronously.
The location, scale, architectural plan and spatial organization are carefully studied, on the principle of ensuring harmony, respecting the special values of the Relic Site; with the responsible participation of specialized agencies, scientists, experts; complying with the provisions of law on cultural heritage, in accordance with the approved plan.
The statue "Uncle Ho with the country festival" inaugurated today expresses the deep feelings of the people towards Him. In the space of the nation's origins, the image of Uncle Ho connects all eras, evoking compatriotism and the strength of solidarity of all Vietnamese people.
