During his visit and work in Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of September 12, General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and his wife Naly Sisoulith attended the launching ceremony to support people affected by storm No. 3.

On the afternoon of September 12, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the Ho Chi Minh City Relief Mobilization Committee held a launching ceremony to support people in the northern provinces affected by storm No. 3.

Notably, within the framework of the visit and work in Ho Chi Minh City, General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, his wife Naly Sisoulith and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos Saleumxay Kommasith attended the ceremony.

Also attending the event were former President Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen, Mr. Le Hoai Trung - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central External Relations Commission, along with Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai and leaders of departments, branches, districts. The event also attracted the participation of many people, businesses and organizations in Ho Chi Minh City.

Previously, also on the afternoon of September 12, General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, his wife and delegates visited Ben Nha Rong (Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City Branch).

Here, General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and delegates observed a minute of silence to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh, the national liberation hero and outstanding cultural figure of Vietnam.

After that, the delegation offered incense to President Ho Chi Minh and visited Nha Rong Wharf, a place associated with important milestones in Uncle Ho's revolutionary life.

Responding to the call from the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Ho Chi Minh City has launched a fundraising campaign to support the northern provinces that are heavily affected by the storm.

Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, spoke at the ceremony: "In recent days, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee has directed the implementation of many plans to be ready to respond promptly and support provinces affected by natural disasters. With the consensus of the entire political system of the city, the business community and the people, we have donated and transferred to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front the amount of 120 billion VND".

At the same time, Ho Chi Minh City directly supported the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen provinces, each province with 10 billion VND.

Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc expressed his gratitude to individuals and organizations that contributed to supporting the people of the North in times of trouble.

"These noble gestures not only demonstrate the love of compatriots but are also valuable resources to help the northern provinces quickly restore production and stabilize life after the storm," said Mr. Loc.

At the launch event on the afternoon of September 12, 91 businesses, organizations, and individuals contributed. The City Relief Fund received an additional amount of more than 58 billion VND, of which goods were more than 6 billion VND.
