On July 6, General Secretary and President To Lam received the Ambassadors of Portugal, Iran, Mongolia, USA, Myanmar.

Receiving Portuguese Ambassador Joaquim Alberto De Sousa Moreira De Lemos, General Secretary and President To Lam congratulated the Ambassador on taking on the position of the first Portuguese Resident Ambassador to Vietnam. With a history of 510 years of diplomatic relations, the General Secretary and President welcomed the two sides' agreement to upgrade relations to a higher level.

Ambassador Joaquim Alberto De Sousa Moreira De Lemos expressed his honor to be the first Permanent Representative of Portugal to Vietnam; affirmed that he will strive to promote cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, high technology, transportation, renewable energy and expand new cooperation opportunities.

Receiving Iranian Ambassador Akbar Ghasemi Ali Abadi, General Secretary and President To Lam requested that in the coming time, the Ambassador closely coordinate with Vietnamese agencies to promote four contents including strengthening political trust, prioritizing economic cooperation, taking science and technology to create breakthroughs and strengthening cultural, educational - training and tourism cooperation.

At the reception of Mongolian Ambassador Ganbaatar Hulan, General Secretary and President To Lam requested that during his term of office, Ambassador Hulan closely cooperate with relevant Vietnamese agencies to continue to strengthen cooperation through Party, Government, National Assembly channels and in the fields of diplomacy, defense, security, justice and law; connect businesses, attach importance to strengthening the pillar of economic - trade and investment cooperation, realize signed agreements; soon organize the 20th Meeting of the Vietnam - Mongolia Intergovernmental Committee on Economic - Trade and Scientific and Technical Cooperation in Mongolia; request the Mongolian side to pay special attention and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses that are investing and will invest in Mongolia in the near future.

Ambassador Hulan affirmed that he will try his best to contribute to building a bridge of friendship and comprehensive cooperation to bring the "Vietnam - Mongolia Comprehensive Partnership" relationship to become increasingly substantive and effective, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries.

At the reception of US Ambassador Jennifer Wicks, the General Secretary and President requested the two sides to continue to maintain contact and exchange delegations at all levels; promote the effectiveness of existing dialogue mechanisms; soon complete negotiations and sign a reciprocal, fair and balanced Trade Agreement (ART) thereby strengthening economic - trade - investment cooperation, continuing to consider this an important driving force of bilateral relations; and expand cooperation in the fields of science and technology, innovation, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, education and training, health, energy and people-to-people exchanges.

Ambassador Jennifer Wicks emphasized that the US values relations with Vietnam and wishes to continue to accompany Vietnam in the new development stage; believing that building a solid foundation of trust between the two countries will create an important driving force to promote cooperation in other fields.

The Ambassador also affirmed that the US will continue to support and coordinate with Vietnam in overcoming the consequences of war, including dioxin detoxification projects, bomb and mine clearance, support for people with disabilities, searching for and identifying the remains of martyrs who lost their lives in the war; and closely coordinate at regional and international forums, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region as well as in the world.

At the reception of Myanmar Ambassador Wai Linn, General Secretary and President To Lam requested the Ambassador to actively contribute to promoting the friendly and comprehensive cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Myanmar during his term, and coordinate to promote cooperation between the two countries to become deeper and more practical.

Ambassador Wai Linn emphasized that Myanmar values the good traditional relationship with Vietnam, and wishes to promote cooperation between the two countries in all fields, including potential fields such as agriculture, telecommunications, electric vehicles, tourism...
