Expressing emotion when meeting typical overseas Vietnamese, General Secretary To Lam warmly welcomed the typical overseas Vietnamese delegation from more than 40 countries and territories to attend the Homeland Spring 2026 Program.
Recalling the image of the mass parade of Vietnamese people abroad participating for the first time at the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, national reunification and the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2nd recently, the General Secretary affirmed that this is a vivid proof of the spirit of great national unity and harmony, proof of the truth "Vietnam is one, the Vietnamese nation is one", all Vietnamese people are descendants of the dragon and fairy.
The General Secretary clearly stated that the Party and State always consistently believe that the people are the root, the center, the subject, the goal, the driving force and the resources of development; in which, the Vietnamese community abroad is an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation, a particularly important resource of the great national unity bloc in the new era of development.
The General Secretary said that in the past time, the Party and State have always paid attention to protecting the legitimate and lawful rights of the Vietnamese community abroad, contributing to supporting people to stabilize their lives, deeply integrate into the local society, and promote the traditional identity of the Vietnamese nation.
The General Secretary wished that our compatriots abroad always well comply with local laws, unite to build a community that is increasingly developed and strong, enhance the position and prestige of the community; always actively preserve and promote Vietnamese culture, build a good image of the country and people of Vietnam in the eyes of international friends; continue to promote the role of a bridge to strengthen friendly relations between Vietnam and other countries...
In addition, all our compatriots at home and abroad continue to promote the spirit of patriotism, steadfast bravery, aspiration to develop, consolidate the strength of the great national unity bloc - the most important foundation to ensure political stability, socio-economic development and firmly protect the independence and sovereignty of the Fatherland from an early and distant time.
General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the Party and State always welcome and create favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese experts, intellectuals, scientists, and entrepreneurs to contribute more to the country's development, especially in key areas for the new development stage of the country.
The Party and State will continue to improve policies for overseas Vietnamese, and at the same time strengthen international coordination to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the people, helping compatriots to feel secure in living, working, and developing in the host country.
