On the morning of October 4, at the Ministry of Public Security Hall (Hanoi), the 8th Central Public Security Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, solemnly opened. General Secretary To Lam attended and directed the Congress.
Also attending were Politburo members: President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
The congress was also attended by leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front; leaders of central departments, ministries, and branches; leaders of 6 centrally-run cities; leaders and former leaders of the Central Public Security Party Committee (CATW), and the Ministry of Public Security.
The delegates summoned to the Congress include 350 outstanding delegates representing the intelligence, political courage, intelligence, beliefs and aspirations of more than 67,000 party members in the entire CATW Party Committee.
The 8th Congress of the CATW Party Committee is an event of special significance, affirming the growth and maturity of the People's Public Security force after 80 years of building, fighting and growing under the leadership of the Party; marking a new chapter in the development of the Party Committee and the entire People's Public Security force, all for the successful implementation of the Party's strategic goals, for " peace, stability, sustainable development, high quality and improving the lives of all people".
The decisions of the Congress are the basis for continuing to improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the CATW Party Committee and Party organizations in the People's Public Security; building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, modern People's Public Security force; consolidating and enhancing the potential and strength to protect security and order to meet the requirements and tasks in the new revolutionary period. The results of the 8th CATW Party Congress contributed significantly to the success of the 14th National Congress of the Party.
At the opening session of the Congress, delegates will listen to reports on the results of the election session, invite the Presidium and Secretary of the Congress to work; Opening speech of the Congress; Report on the results of the examination of delegate status; Political report; Report on reviewing the leadership and direction of the CATW Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025; comments on documents submitted to the documents submitted to the 8th CATW Party Congress, draft documents submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Party.
