Overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10, the Politburo requires that people not lack food, clean water, medicine, or housing.

On the afternoon of October 3, according to information from the Central Party Office, the Politburo issued instructions on overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10.

According to reports from provinces and cities affected by storm No. 10, as of 1:00 p.m. on October 3, 2025, storm No. 10 and floods, landslides, and thunderstorms have caused the following damage:

Regarding people: 52 dead, 14 missing, 165 injured; home: 355 houses collapsed, collapsed; nearly 172,300 houses damaged, roofs blown off; nearly 80,000 flooded houses; in agriculture, forestry, and fishery: Over 90,000 hectares of rice, crops, and other crops were damaged, over 84,000 trees were broken, over 17,000 hectares of seafood were damaged; in livestock farming: Over 2,300 livestock and 554,000 poultry died or were swept away.

Over 1,500 affected schools, there have been 62 incidents of dykes and landslides of 33,176 m embankments, river banks, and coasts, over 60,000 m of canals and ditches, 203 irrigation works damaged; traffic: Flooding, landslides, traffic congestion at 7,610 locations on routes in 13 provinces and cities; electricity and telecommunications: Nearly 9,000 power poles were broken and collapsed, with over 1,100 BTS stations out of contact; communication to meet the needs of local authorities at the commune level but the quality was not as good as usual.

The total preliminary economic damage in some provinces is VND 15,972 billion (localities are continuing to review, organize inspections, overcome immediate damage and synthesize reported data).

At today's Politburo meeting, October 3, 2025, the Central Party Office issued a summary report on the damage and recovery work caused by storm No. 10. The Politburo has the following opinion:

The Politburo acknowledged and commended the efforts of Party committees, Party organizations, agencies and units, especially the Government, the army, the police and the commune-level government in preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10. Sharing with local Party committees, authorities and people affected by storms and floods, especially families with relatives in distress.

Requesting agencies, units and localities to continue to strengthen the direction of concentrating forces to overcome the consequences of storms and floods, especially the relief work for people in isolated areas. The army and police must mobilize means to carry out the top priority task of supporting and helping the people, not allowing people to lack food, clean water, medicine, and housing; focusing on prioritizing the transportation of sick people, the elderly, and children to safe areas.

Focus on directing the restoration of the headquarters of the political system, schools, infirmaries... affected by storms; focus on repairing and rebuilding hundreds of thousands of houses destroyed by storms and floods so that people can soon have a place to live; repair roads, bridges and culverts damaged by storms and floods; ensure electricity supply, telecommunication waves, domestic water, and environmental sanitation.

Continue to inspect, review, and strengthen the system of dykes and dams. At the same time, urgently deploy response to Storm No. 11 (expected to enter our country this weekend); proactively have food and food reserve plans in areas at high risk of being affected by storms and floods (according to weather developments).

The Vietnam Fatherland Front continues to implement activities to mobilize support and sponsorship; youth forces, agencies and localities launch movements and practical work to support people in areas affected by storms, floods and difficulties. The Government balances the budget to support localities, in the immediate future to focus on overcoming the consequences of Storm No. 10.

Consecutive storms No. 8, 9, 10 and floods caused by the storm have killed 19 people and many people are missing. Many houses and production and business establishments had their roofs blown off and suffered heavy damage. People across the northern and central mountainous provinces are struggling to cope with floods and heavy losses in human lives and property due to floods and thunderstorms.
