General Secretary: Foreign affairs will continue to create peace, elevate the country's position

This is the second meeting of General Secretary To Lam with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a month and the third meeting in the past year.

On the afternoon of September 15, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam chaired a meeting with the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies.

Also attending the meeting were: General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang - Politburo member, Minister of Public Security; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung; Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son; Member of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office Pham Gia Tuc; and representatives of the leaders of units of the Party Central Committee Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National Defense and Ministry of Public Security.

At the meeting, based on the suggestions for discussion of General Secretary To Lam, the leaders of the agencies discussed and deeply assessed new and notable developments in the world and regional situation, forecasted impacts on Vietnam and foreign affairs directions to serve the country's key tasks in the coming period.

Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the enthusiastic and profound contributions of the leaders of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Central Military Commission and the Central Public Security Commission.

Continuing to affirm the Party's guiding viewpoint on promoting foreign affairs and international integration as a "key, regular" task, the General Secretary pointed out the importance of coordinating the three pillars of National Defense - Security - Foreign Affairs; suggested that the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continue to closely coordinate with departments, ministries, branches and localities in proactively, synchronously and effectively implementing foreign affairs and international integration tasks.

The General Secretary suggested that the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continue to grasp the situation, further enhance the quality, effectiveness and timeliness of research and consultation for Party and State leaders in major decisions and policies of strategic importance to the country; suggest that the entire foreign affairs sector, including diplomacy, continue to promote its pioneering role in creating a peaceful and stable environment, making the most of external resources and favorable conditions for national development, especially to realize development goals for 2030 and 2045.

The General Secretary expressed his confidence that Vietnamese diplomacy will continue to create peace, expand development space, elevate the country's position, and actively contribute to the successful implementation of the two 100-year goals set by the Party, to develop Vietnam strongly, prosperously, sustainably and sustainably.

This is the second meeting of General Secretary To Lam with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a month and the third meeting in the past year, showing that the leaders of the Party, State, Politburo, and Secretariat, directly the General Secretary, are very interested in and attach importance to foreign affairs work, always giving foreign affairs and diplomacy direct and close leadership and direction.
