On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the diplomatic sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025), on behalf of the Party and State leaders, I would like to send my sincere greetings and best wishes to all generations of cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers in the diplomatic sector and collectives and individuals participating in foreign affairs work.
The great honor and pride of the diplomatic sector is that President Ho Chi Minh directly directed, trained and guided him in the position of the first Foreign Minister after the country gained independence. After 80 years of construction and growth, the diplomatic sector has overcome countless difficulties, achieved great achievements of historical significance, and made an important contribution to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Right from the early days of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and during the 30 years of the resistance war against invasion, national independence, national reunification, under the wise and talented leadership of our Party and the guidance of Ho Chi Minh's diplomatic ideology, foreign affairs - diplomacy is one of the forces that plays a key role, pioneering in successfully protecting the young revolutionary government, laying the foundation for the long-term development of the Vietnamese revolution.
The Foreign - diplomatic Front always stands side by side with political and military fronts, forming a pioneering force, opening up a game of both fighting and negotiating, taking full advantage of the great international support and assistance, closely combining national strength and the strength of the times, contributing significantly to the victory step by step towards complete victory, the country's peace and quietness at one point, the complete liberation of the South, and the national reunification.
After the country's reunification, foreign affairs and diplomacy continued to take the lead, gradually breaking the situation of encroachment and embargo, promoting international integration, opening up a favorable foreign situation, contributing significantly to the successful implementation of the Party's Doi Moi guidelines.
With the spirit of serving the Fatherland, foreign affairs and diplomacy have contributed significantly to creating and maintaining an environment of peace, stability, determination, perseverance in protecting independence, sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, building the apparatus, potential, enhancing the country's international position and prestige as it is today. Many outstanding Vietnamese diplomats have held important positions at international organizations, and have been recognized and highly appreciated.
On this occasion, I highly appreciate and warmly commend and congratulate the important achievements and results that generations of cadres working in foreign affairs have achieved. The Party and the State acknowledge the great contributions and silent sacrifices of generations of cadres who have always been loyal to the revolutionary cause and the country's foreign affairs work.
The world is going through great changes, turning points of the times. Our country Vietnam is facing a new era of national development.
Inheriting the heroic 8-year achievements of the Vietnamese revolution, continuing to fulfill the wish of the great President Ho Chi Minh on building a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and rich Vietnam, contributing worthyly to the world revolutionary cause; so that our country Vietnam can stand shoulder to shoulder with the world powers as his wish and also the wish of the entire Party, the entire people, the task of the diplomatic sector and those working in foreign affairs is extremely heavy, but also extremely glorious.
In addition to political and foreign affairs tasks, the diplomatic sector and those working in foreign affairs must also successfully carry out the key task of serving the country's sustainable development in the new era.
I believe that, with a proud tradition over the past 80 years, the diplomatic sector will continue to promote its pioneering role in proactively and actively seizing opportunities, turning challenges into opportunities, contributing effectively to the successful implementation of the strategic goals set out in the Party Congress Resolution.
Foreign affairs - diplomacy must reach new heights, truly being one of the important and strategic forces in protecting the country early and from afar, maintaining a peaceful, stable, independent, sovereign, and territorial integrity environment, constantly enhancing the prestige and position of the country, effectively contributing to the cause of building and defending the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.
In the current era, the development of the country is always closely linked, inseparable from the common development flow of all of humanity. The effective diplomatic method has been proven historically to be a close combination of national strength and the strength of the times; closely and synchronously coordinating on all three pillars: Party foreign affairs, State diplomacy and people's foreign affairs under the leadership of the Party.
I believe that cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers working in foreign affairs and diplomacy will always promote the qualities of "both rosy and professional", steadfast in revolutionary goals and ideals; strong in politics, ideology, clean, comprehensive in moral qualities and professional capacity; modern in thinking and with a professional style, continuing to excellently complete all tasks, contributing to the successful implementation of the country's development goals in the new era.
I would like to wish the diplomatic sector and those working in foreign affairs to always excellently complete the tasks assigned by the Party, State and people.
