Immediately after arriving in Busan city, General Secretary To Lam received former Consul General of honor of Vietnam Park Soo Kwan in Korea.

VNA reported that at the reception on the morning of August 13, General Secretary To Lam expressed his pleasure at meeting Mr. Park Soo Kwan, a close friend of the Vietnamese people, in the beautiful port city of Busan during his state visit to Korea this time.

The General Secretary shared his impression when visiting Busan city, witnessing the city's potential and development achievements, thereby demonstrating the determination and efforts of the leaders and people of Busan city in promoting the city to become a typical model in the region.

The General Secretary said that in recent years, thanks to the active support of the State and people of the two countries, typical Korean entrepreneurs, including Mr. Park Soo Kwan, the Vietnam - Korea cooperation in various fields, especially the economy, has been developing at a fairly high rate.

Vietnam and South Korea continue to maintain their position as mutually important partners; people-to-people exchanges and local cooperation take place vigorously. The communities of people from one country to another have basically integrated well, contributed to the socio-economic development of the host country and played a role as a bridge for friendship between the two countries.

The General Secretary said that with the goal of enhancing Vietnam's diplomatic presence in the South Korean region, while meeting the increasing needs of the Vietnamese community and local partners, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam has decided to establish a Vietnamese Consulate General in Busan city.

In order for the work of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Busan city to be carried out smoothly and put into effective operation, the General Secretary hopes that Mr. Park Soo Kwan will continue to care, support and create the most favorable conditions for the Vietnamese Consulate General in Busan city, South Korea in the coming time.

Former Consul General Park Soo Kwan expressed his pleasure at meeting General Secretary To Lam again in his new position, recalling the good impressions in the previous meetings with General Secretary To Lam; affirming that with the vision and leadership style of General Secretary To Lam, Vietnam will continue to develop prosperously in the coming time.

Former Consul General Park Soo Kwan shared that Busan city was very happy to be chosen as the venue and had prepared very carefully for the launching ceremony of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Busan and to host the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of the friendly cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Busan city.

Former Consul General Park Soo Kwan believes that the cooperation between the two cities in the coming time will continue to develop, contributing more to the cooperation between the two countries of Korea and Vietnam in the new period.
