According to VNA, within the framework of the State visit to Korea, on the evening of August 10, in the capital Seoul, General Secretary To Lam and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, met with officials and staff of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Korea.
At the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Vu Ho said that the Vietnamese community in Korea always promotes the tradition of solidarity, mutual love, helping each other to develop more and more, preserving national identity, turning towards the homeland, actively contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; acting as a bridge to strengthen the friendship between Vietnam and Korea.
Many Vietnamese people in Korea have contributed positively to the local economy in all aspects, and have been recognized and highly appreciated by Korea. The Embassy and representative agencies of Vietnam in Korea have actively coordinated with Korean authorities to promote the concretization and implementation of cooperation agreements between the two countries.
Representatives of the Vietnamese community in Korea expressed their deep affection for their homeland and country; hoped that the Government would direct ministries and branches to create more favorable conditions for administrative procedures related to Vietnamese nationality and other personal documents; citizen protection work, community development of Vietnamese people in Korea...
Speaking at the meeting, expressing his pleasure at meeting the large Vietnamese community in Korea, General Secretary To Lam acknowledged the contributions and tireless efforts of the people to the relationship between Vietnam and Korea.
The General Secretary highly appreciated the community for always preserving and promoting the cultural identity of Vietnam in the neighboring country; affirmed that the Vietnamese community in Korea is an inseparable part of the country's blood and body.
General Secretary To Lam emphasized that this working trip of the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation at the invitation of President Lee Jae Myung will contribute to promoting the relationship between Vietnam and Korea to new heights.
At talks and contacts with senior leaders of South Korea in the coming days, the Vietnamese side will continue to recommend the Government and State of South Korea to create the most favorable conditions for Vietnamese people to live and work stably and make more practical contributions to the relationship between the two countries in the new period.
After informing the people about the country's outstanding achievements in all fields, especially the major policies and orientations of the Party and State in the coming time so that the country can firmly enter the new era, the General Secretary suggested that the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea acknowledge the opinions and recommendations of the Vietnamese community in Korea and affirm that it will direct ministries and functional agencies to pay attention to solving related issues.
