General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the Vietnam - Kazakhstan relationship will certainly continue to develop effectively and be raised to new heights.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, within the framework of the state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the evening of 5.5, in the capital Astana, General Secretary To Lam met the president of the Senate Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev.

Emphasizing the importance of the first visit of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992, President Maulen Ashimbayev affirmed that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the traditional friendship and good cooperation in many aspects with Vietnam, Kazakhstan's trusted and important partner in Southeast Asia, expressing his belief that the visit will open up promising and potential cooperation opportunities for both sides.

The General Secretary emphasized that the visit took place at a historic time when Vietnam celebrated the 50th anniversary of the victory on April 30, 1975 and Kazakhstan celebrated the 80th anniversary of the Naxiti victory, which without the Naxiti victory, there could not be an August Revolution and without today's Vietnam.

The General Secretary congratulated the great achievements that the people of Kazakhstan have achieved under the leadership of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the leaders of Kazakhstan with a strategic vision for Kazakhstan's socio-economic development and increasingly enhanced international position.

The General Secretary said that Vietnam wishes to exchange experiences with Kazakhstan to complement each other in mutual development and bilateral relations will be a bridge for the two countries to the two continents of Europe and Asia, contributing to peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

The two sides were pleased to see that in recent times, the political relations between Vietnam and Kazakhstan have developed well with high political trust and delegation exchanges at all levels, especially high-level and vibrant.

Emphasizing that parliamentary cooperation is one of the important pillars to promote bilateral relations, the two leaders were pleased to see that cooperation between the two countries' National Assemblies has achieved many positive results with the two sides maintaining high-level contacts and committees, both bilaterally and in multilateral forums.

Economic - trade and investment cooperation has had positive changes. Cooperation in other fields has also achieved many important achievements.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that with common aspirations and development goals, with open potential, the relationship between the two countries will certainly continue to develop effectively, substantially and be raised to new heights.

Senate President Maulen Ashimbayev congratulated the strong socio -economic development achievements of Vietnam that not many countries in the world could achieve; Emphasizing the new relative stature reflects the strong development and strategic connection between the two countries, which is important in the time of both countries, entering the new development stage and in the context of the world situation there are many fluctuations.

Senate Chairman Maulen Ashimbayev affirmed that the House of Representatives of Kazakhstan will actively support and promote the implementation of cooperation directions agreed by the leaders of both sides.

Considering that cooperation between the House of Councilors of Kazakhstan and the National Assembly of Vietnam is extremely important, the two leaders agreed to promote cooperation, promote delegation exchanges on the parliamentary channel; strengthen coordination in monitoring and urging the effective implementation of cooperation agreements signed by the two governments to develop the Vietnam - Kazakhstan friendship in a practical and effective manner; strengthen cooperation in cadre training, development policies and party building, and youth agencies to enhance mutual understanding.

On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam conveyed the greetings and invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to the President of the Kazakhstan Senate to visit Vietnam at an appropriate time.

Senate Chairman Maulen Ashimbayev also respectfully invited National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to visit Kazakhstan.
