Accordingly, the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 will be held from December 19-22, 2024 at Gia Lam Airport (Hanoi). The exhibition is open from 9am to 5pm. The opening ceremony will be held from 9am on December 19, 2024. The Prime Minister is expected to attend, deliver the opening speech and visit the exhibition.
The opening ceremony program with the theme "Vietnam - Peace - Cooperation - Development" with 2,000 officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army performing.
Along with that, the Vietnam Air Force flew to welcome, the Vietnam People's Army Special Forces, and Border Guard dogs performed to welcome the exhibition.
According to the latest announcement, from 9am to 5pm on December 20, the exhibition will be open to professional visitors. Starting from 9am on December 21, people can visit the exhibition instead of the old schedule of 1:30pm. Thus, the organizers have opened the exhibition for people to visit 4 hours earlier.
According to the latest update from the organizing committee, this year's exhibition will have 242 domestic and international units and businesses confirming their participation in displaying products.
Vietnam has 77 units participating in the exhibition, including the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel), factories Z111, Z113, Z131, Z175, member companies of the General Department of Defense Industry, and companies under the Ministry of National Defense.
69 types of weapons and equipment researched, developed and produced by the Vietnam People's Army from 2022 to present will also be displayed here.
Previously, at a press conference about the exhibition, Major General Le Quang Tuyen - Deputy Director of the General Department of Defense Industry - said that the exhibition area has a total area of over 100,000m2 with an indoor display area of 15,000m2 and an outdoor area of over 20,000m2.
The exhibition organizers said that the event was held in a series of events to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army. The estimated cost of organizing the exhibition is about 120 billion VND from socialized sources. The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 is expected to have about 60,000 visitors.
