This information was stated at the Press Conference introducing the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 organized by the Ministry of National Defense this morning (November 19).
Accordingly, the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 will be held from December 19-22, 2024 at Gia Lam Airport (Hanoi). The exhibition will be open to the public for free from 1:00 p.m. on December 21 to December 22, 2024.
Colonel Nguyen Xuan Thuy - Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department - said that the exhibition was held simultaneously with activities and events on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), the 35th National Defense Day; it is a key activity, creating a highlight of international significance and stature.
At the exhibition, domestic and international defense enterprises displayed and introduced combat vehicles, technological solutions, weapons, and equipment for the Navy, Army, Air Defense - Air Force, cyber warfare, and logistics and technical equipment.
Vietnamese products displayed and introduced at the exhibition include products researched and manufactured by agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense (General Department of Defense Industry, Air Defense - Air Force, Navy, Military Technical Academy, Vietnam - Russia Tropical Center, Armored Corps, Chemical Corps, Military Science and Technology Institute, Military Industry - Telecommunications Group) and commercial and service companies of the Ministry of National Defense.
Major General Le Quang Tuyen - Deputy Director of the General Department of Defense Industry - said that the exhibition area has a total area of more than 100,000 square meters with an indoor display area of 15,000 square meters and an outdoor area of more than 20,000 square meters.
To date, nearly 200 domestic and foreign units and enterprises from 27 countries (Vietnam, Russia, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Serbia, Czech Republic, Sweden, Finland, Belarus, Bulgaria, Italy, Germany, Turkey, India, Iran, Japan, Korea, China, Israel, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Cambodia, UAE, USA, Brazil) have registered to exhibit at the exhibition. The indoor exhibition scale is double that of the 2022 exhibition.
According to the exhibition organizers, the exhibition will be held for 4 days from December 19-22, 2024, open from 9am-5pm daily. The opening ceremony will be held from 9am on December 19, 2024. The Prime Minister is expected to attend, deliver the opening speech and visit the exhibition.
Vietnam Air Force flies to welcome, Vietnam People's Army Special Forces, Vietnam People's Army Border Guard dogs perform to welcome the exhibition.
The exhibition organizers said that the event is part of a series of events to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army. The estimated cost of organizing the exhibition is about 120 billion VND from socialized sources. The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 is expected to have about 60,000 visitors.
