On February 5, the People's Council - People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony to hand over key personnel decisions in Thu Duc City.
At the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Home Affairs Nguyen Thi Hong Tham announced the resolution of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council on approving the election results for the position of Chairman of the Thu Duc City People's Council for Mr. Kieu Ngoc Vu - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Thu Duc City People's Council.
Mr. Kieu Ngoc Vu, born in 1976, hometown Ho Chi Minh City; qualifications: Master of Party Building and State Administration, Bachelor of Physics, Senior Political Theory.
At the same time, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also approved the election results of Mr. Tran Huu Phuoc - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thu Duc City, to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Thu Duc City People's Committee.
Mr. Tran Huu Phuoc, born in 1973, hometown Ho Chi Minh City; qualifications: Master of Party Building and State Administration, Bachelor of Political Education, Senior Political Theory.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai congratulated the two leaders who had just been approved for key positions, and emphasized the importance of perfecting personnel to promote the development of Thu Duc City.
Mr. Phan Van Mai suggested that the two new leaders continue to train and unite, together with the Standing Committee of Thu Duc City Party Committee, to achieve development goals and meet people's expectations.
Regarding the new Chairman of the People's Council of Thu Duc City, Mr. Phan Van Mai asked Mr. Kieu Ngoc Vu to focus on studying resolutions and legal policies to effectively advise the Party Committee, and at the same time organize and operate the People's Council of Thu Duc City in a more flexible and effective model.
With the new Vice Chairman of Thu Duc City People's Committee, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai believes that Mr. Tran Huu Phuoc will promote his experience and contribute to improving the operational efficiency of Thu Duc City People's Committee.
Mr. Phan Van Mai emphasized that 2025 is a decisive year in the current term. Therefore, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee called on the entire political system of Thu Duc City to unite and make efforts to successfully complete the task. Thu Duc City must maintain its leading role, creating momentum for Ho Chi Minh City to develop strongly and make breakthroughs in the coming period.
On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Thu Duc City, Secretary of the Thu Duc City Party Committee Nguyen Huu Hiep expressed his gratitude to the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City for their attention to perfecting the personnel of Thu Duc City.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Hiep affirmed that Thu Duc City will speed up progress, effectively carry out tasks under its authority, and proactively propose solutions to remove obstacles to develop into a highly interactive and creative urban area, playing a core role in promoting the socio-economic development of Ho Chi Minh City.
Thu Duc City is about 211 km2 wide with more than one million people, established in early 2021, on the basis of merging Districts 2, 9 and Thu Duc, is the first city-within-a-city model in the country.
This place is expected to be the leading nucleus, contributing 30% of the total regional product (GRDP) of Ho Chi Minh City, equivalent to 7% of the country's gross domestic product (GDP).
