HCMC identifies headquarters of 12 new wards after splitting Thu Duc City

Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Duc City will establish 12 new wards from the merger of 34 existing wards, with the administrative headquarters of each ward clearly identified.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just completed the project to reorganize commune-level administrative units in 2025.

Thu Duc City established 12 new wards on the basis of merging 34 existing wards. After establishment, each ward has clearly identified the location of its headquarters.

Hiep Binh Ward was established from the merger of Hiep Binh Chanh Ward, Hiep Binh Phuoc Ward and part of Linh Dong Ward. The new ward has a population of more than 215,000 people on an area of 16.01 km2. The ward People's Committee headquarters is located at 2 Road No. 5 - the old headquarters of Hiep Binh Chanh Ward People's Committee.

Thu Duc ward is formed from Linh Chieu, Binh Tho, Truong Tho wards, along with part of Linh Dong and Linh Tay wards, with an area of 8.81 km2 with nearly 119,000 people. The administrative headquarters is located at 17 Chan Ly Street - the old headquarters of the People's Committee of Binh Tho Ward.

Tam Binh ward was established from the merger of Binh Chieu, Tam Binh and Tam Phu wards, with a population of more than 153,000 people on an area of 10.71 km2. The new Tam Binh ward headquarters will be located at the old Binh Chieu ward People's Committee, No. 934 Provincial Road 43.

Linh Xuan ward was established from the merger of Linh Trung, Linh Xuan wards and part of Linh Tay, with an area of 12.29 km2 and more than 158,000 people. The office is located at 81 Hoang Cam Street - the old headquarters of Linh Xuan Ward.

Tang Nhon Phu ward was established on the basis of merging Hiep Phu, Tan Phu, Tang Nhon Phu A, Tang Nhon Phu B wards and part of Long Thanh My. The new ward has an area of 16.51 km2 with more than 208,000 people. The government headquarters is located at 29 Le Van Viet - the old headquarters of Tang Nhon Phu A ward.

Long Binh ward was established from the merger of Long Binh ward and part of Long Thanh My ward, with an area of up to 29.43 km2 and a population of nearly 120,000 people. The new working headquarters is identified at 325 Nguyen Van Tang Street - the old headquarters of the People's Committee of Long Thanh My Ward.

Long Phuoc ward was established from the merger of Long Phuoc and Truong Thanh wards, with the largest area among wards at 34.29 km2, population of about 53,000 people. The administrative headquarters is located at 239 Long Thuan Quarter - the old headquarters of Long Phuoc Ward.

Long Truong ward was established from the merger of Long Truong and Phu Huu wards, with an area of 24.49 km2 and nearly 74,000 people. The headquarters of the People's Committee of the ward is located at 1341 Nguyen Duy Trinh street - the current headquarters of the People's Committee of Long Truong ward.

Cat Lai ward was formed from the merger of Cat Lai and Thanh My Loi wards, with an area of 19.65 km2 and a population of nearly 69,000 people. The administrative headquarters is located at 560 Truong Gia Mo - the old headquarters of Thanh My Loi ward.

Binh Trung ward was reorganized from Binh Trung Dong, Binh Trung Tay and part of An Phu wards, with a population of more than 121,000 people on an area of 14.82 km2. The head office is located at 08 Ho Thi Nhung Street - the old headquarters of the People's Committee of Binh Trung Dong Ward.

Phuoc Long ward is formed from three wards: Phuoc Binh, Phuoc Long A and Phuoc Long B. This ward has an area of 9.23 km2 with a population of more than 137,000 people. The ward's working headquarters is located at 183 Do Xuan Hop Street - the old headquarters of Phuoc Long B ward.

An Khanh ward was established from the merger of An Khanh, An Loi Dong, Thao Dien, Thu Thiem wards and part of An Phu ward. With an area of 15.33 km2 and a population of nearly 77,000 people, the ward People's Committee headquarters is located at 10 D2 Street - the old headquarters of Thu Thiem ward People's Committee.

Thu Duc City was established on January 1, 2021 under Resolution 1111/NQ-UBTVQH14 of the National Assembly Standing Committee, on the basis of merging three Districts: 2, 9 and Thu Duc.
