Here, Mr. Phan Phung Phu - Secretary of Cai Lay Town Party Committee - said that Cai Lay town was recognized as a Type III urban area and completed the task of building new rural areas by 2020. Currently, 6/10 communes have met the advanced new rural standards, 1 commune has met the model new rural standards, 6 wards have met the civilized urban standards and continue to strive to build Cai Lay town to meet the civilized urban standards by 2025. Gradually complete the urban criteria so that Cai Lay town becomes a city under the province by 2030. In addition, rural traffic, electricity, domestic water, communication and people's living standards have changed positively, gradually reducing the gap between rural and urban areas. Up to now, 100% of households in the town have electricity and clean water.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department - highly appreciated and acknowledged the achievements in agricultural production of Cai Lay Town in recent times; at the same time, shared experiences in production and development of agricultural products.
Cai Lay town needs to develop and implement solutions to promote and improve productivity, change crop and livestock seasons to increase the value of agricultural products, strive to be a pioneer and become a center of innovation and creativity in the agricultural sector. In addition, it is necessary to proactively coordinate with related sectors, guide farmers to promote models of specialty plants and animals, develop integrated multi-value agriculture, organic agriculture, and circulation associated with eco-tourism to protect the environment and increase value.
Actively encourage young people to start businesses in the agricultural sector. Orient and support the standardization of production processes, improve product quality to meet export requirements; clearly identify advantages to focus on building brands, finding output for products; increase the application of mechanization in production to help reduce labor, increase productivity of crops and livestock, etc.
