On September 4, the 20th conference of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) for the 2019-2024 term took place in Hanoi .
At the conference, Vice President - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - presented a report asking for opinions on the content of a number of draft documents to be submitted to the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024 - 2029.
Accordingly, the draft Political Report has 4 new points.
Firstly, supplement the assessment of the implementation results of a number of tasks that meet practical requirements, demonstrate the responsibility, creativity and timeliness of the Front system, which have not been proposed in the action program of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2019-2024 term.
Second, supplement the content of comments and general assessment of the 40-year innovation process of the Vietnam Fatherland Front according to the Party's guidelines.
Third, develop directions and goals for the 2024-2029 term in a specific, detailed, and feasible manner; at the same time, supplement a number of indicators for the term in a clearly quantitative manner.
Fourth, the action program for the 2024-2029 term includes 6 programs. In particular, continue to inherit and promote the 5 action programs for the 2019-2024 term, adding a new program: Promoting the role of mastery, self-management spirit of the people, building a united, prosperous and happy residential area.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, the draft Political Report is divided into two parts:
Part 1: The situation of the great national unity bloc and the results of implementing the action program of the 9th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2019-2024.
Part 2: Directions, goals and Action Program of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2024-2029 term. In addition to the main report content (36 pages), the report includes an appendix.
The title of the draft political report is: “Enhancing the core political role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, promoting the tradition and strength of great national unity, contributing to building our country to be increasingly prosperous and happy”. The motto of the congress is: “Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Creativity - Development”.
At the conference, contributing to the political report, Mr. Nguyen Tuc - Member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front - emphasized that the people are the ones who discover the negative aspects and corruption.
Mr. Nguyen Tuc cited the case of Trinh Xuan Thanh (at that time Vice Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee) which began to emerge in June 2016 when people discovered and reported that Trinh Xuan Thanh used a Lexus car with blue license plate number 95A-0699 to drive freely on the streets of the Western region, worth about 5 billion VND, causing a stir in public opinion.
"I want to affirm that in order to limit corruption and negativity, we must further enhance the role of the people. It is the people's discoveries, accounting for 85%, that state agencies then step in to handle" - Mr. Nguyen Tuc said, emphasizing the role of the people in preventing and fighting corruption.
Mr. Nguyen Tuc also emphasized that in the past, there has been little attention paid to training for officials who are members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at all levels. This is an issue that needs to be proposed and resolved in the coming time.
