According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the afternoon of June 28, at the Government Office, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a meeting with Ms. Aud Aud Aud Aud Azoulay, General Director of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UN UNESCO).
At the reception, the Prime Minister thanked UNESCO, especially the Director General, for her contributions to promoting the Vietnam - UNESCO partnership over the past two terms.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also expressed his wish that UNESCO continue to be a cultural companion and promote the core values of the Vietnamese people to the world; contribute to promoting the vibrant culture, elevating Vietnamese culture, building vision and action in building and developing culture; supporting human resource training in this field.
At the reception, UNESCO Director General Audi Azoulay expressed his emotion and joy at returning to Vietnam - an important and responsible partner in the UNESCO system.
She affirmed that Vietnam is a model in preserving and promoting the values of heritage and UNESCO titles from tangible and intangible heritages to global geoparks, creative cities, learning cities... are practical and effective models that can be shared with the world.
She affirmed that UNESCO has and will continue to accompany Vietnam in efforts to build and develop a culture, localize human civilization, preserve and promote traditional cultural values that contribute to human civilization.
The General Director also affirmed that UNESCO is ready to accompany Vietnam in current efforts for reform and international integration in the digital age, especially training human resources on Artificial Intelligence (AI) with the participation of private partners.
Previously, on the morning of June 28, at the Government Headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son received UNESCO Director General Aud Audit Azoulay.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son shared four breakthrough pillars in the era of national growth, suggesting that UNESCO continue to accompany in policy consultation, improve the quality of human resources, strengthen public-private partnerships, especially in emerging fields such as AI, semiconductors, renewable energy and scientific data.
Expressing her impression of Vietnam's strategic vision and the potential to become a center for knowledge and innovation in the region, Ms. Aud Aud Aud Azoulay emphasized UNESCO's readiness to coordinate to build a regional training center for AI in Vietnam, as well as support the establishment of the UNESCO Chair (international Cooperation Mechanism between universities and UNESCO) on AI and data science at Vietnamese universities, public-private partnerships with Vietnamese corporations in knowledge-based development initiatives.
Recognizing UNESCO's contributions and commitment, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister presented Ms. Audit Azoulay with the "For the cause of Vietnamese diplomacy" Medal, not only recognizing the General Director's contribution to the protection and promotion of Vietnamese cultural heritage, but also affirming the strategic partnership between Vietnam and UNESCO. Expressing her honor at receiving the Medal, Ms. Azoulay affirmed her commitment to continue accompanying Vietnam in preserving, promoting and spreading the values of heritage and human knowledge.
