After successfully concluding the program to attend the WEF Conference in Tianjin, China, on June 26, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and met with Politburo member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the Shanghai Party Committee Tran Cat Ninh.
According to VNA, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that Shanghai further increase exchanges and delegation exchanges at all levels with localities in Vietnam, especially further promoting friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City; enhancing substantive cooperation in the fields of economy - trade, investment and connecting development strategies, especially in areas where Shanghai has advantages and Vietnam has needs such as developing transport infrastructure, building smart cities, green cities, innovation.
The Prime Minister emphasized the desire to exchange and share experiences in a number of important contents such as developing the state economy, developing international financial centers, free trade zones as well as experience in development and management, handling two issues for big cities: environmental pollution and traffic.
The Prime Minister hopes that Shanghai will further open up Vietnam's key goods, creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to participate in international tourism promotion activities organized by Shanghai, promoting tourism, culture, sports cooperation, training staff, and increasing scholarships for Vietnamese students to study at high-quality universities in Shanghai.
The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam welcomes and is ready to create conditions for Shanghaiese enterprises to expand their investment scale in Vietnam.
Secretary of the City Party Committee Tran Cat Ninh affirmed that Shanghai expressed its readiness to work with Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities to well implement the common perception of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and General Secretary To Lam, as well as the instructions and cooperation proposals of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; increase delegation exchanges at all levels, deepen economic - trade cooperation, closely cooperate in areas where both sides have additional strengths such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, building smart cities, training high-quality human resources; promote cooperation in the fields of culture, education, tourism, contributing to strengthening the China - Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
Based on the development strategy orientation of each country and the successful experience and outstanding advantages of Shanghai, Secretary of the City Party Committee Tran Cat Ninh shared the successful viewpoints, lessons and outstanding policies of Shanghai on modern urban management, solving environmental problems and building an international financial center and free trade zone; affirmed his readiness to continue sharing experiences, cooperation and supporting Vietnam in these areas.
