Attending the meeting were Politburo members, Central Party Committee members who are Deputy Prime Ministers, members of the Government. Representatives of leaders of Party agencies, the Presidential Office, the National Assembly and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front also attended.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung emphasized that the meeting took place immediately after the National Day of September 2nd and the First Extraordinary Session of the 16th National Assembly and this is the time to focus on accelerating and breaking through to strive to maximize the tasks and goals of 2026.
In the context of the world and regional situation continuing to be complex, unpredictable, and potentially risky, we have made efforts to focus on perfecting institutions, improving the investment and business environment, focusing on groups of tasks and solutions to stabilize the macroeconomy, control inflation, ensure major balances of the economy, promote disbursement of public investment capital, develop infrastructure, promote economic growth; focus on cultural and social development, care for people's lives; ensure political and social stability, consolidate national defense and security, strengthen and expand foreign affairs, and international integration.
The Prime Minister affirmed that in August 2026, in general, the socio-economic situation has achieved many positive results, but there are still some shortcomings, limitations and difficulties, challenges due to the impact of unfavorable developments in the international and regional situation, and internal factors of the economy; therefore, it is necessary to carefully assess to have appropriate solutions to ensure the successful completion of socio-economic development goals for 2026.
In that context, the Prime Minister requested the Government to focus on discussing the socio-economic situation in August and 8 months of 2026, key tasks and solutions in September and the last months of 2026, focusing on carefully assessing the developments of the international and domestic situation, as well as outstanding results achieved in August and 8 months of 2026, difficulties and obstacles; pointing out "bottlenecks", proposing specific task groups to remove difficulties and promote the successful implementation of the set tasks.
The Prime Minister also reminded delegates attending the meeting to discuss the direction and administration of the Government, the Prime Minister, ministries, branches, and localities; the proactiveness, timeliness, flexibility, as well as the effectiveness of solutions and policies in the spirit of Resolutions and Conclusions of the Central Government and the National Assembly.
The Head of Government requested to focus on clearly defining the context, tasks, and key solutions in the coming time in each specific field, especially the implementation of the 10% growth target, fiscal and monetary policy management, inflation control, macroeconomic stability; the implementation of Resolutions and Conclusions of the 3rd Plenum of the Central Committee, as well as the preparation process for the 2nd session of the 16th National Assembly, especially important draft laws that the government has recently commented on.
