According to the Political Report submitted to the 1st An Giang Provincial Party Congress, for the 2025-2030 term, the work of building the Party in politics has been focused on and achieved many positive results. Party committees at all levels promptly thoroughly grasp and concretize the Party's policies and resolutions; strengthen inspection, supervision, and preliminary summary of implementation, contributing to bringing the resolutions into life. The political courage, the theoretical qualifications, leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization, cadres and Party members, especially the leaders, have been increasingly improved; democracy goes hand in hand with discipline and order.
The An Giang Provincial Party Committee (new) was established under Decision No. 328 dated June 18, 2025 of the Politburo on the basis of merging the two previous Party Committees of Kien Giang and An Giang Province. After the merger of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee, there are currently 107 Party Committees under the Provincial Party Committee with 931 grassroots Party organizations and 131,548 Party members.
Party committees at all levels seriously implement the Central Committee's policies and resolutions on streamlining the apparatus and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the political system. Personnel policies are implemented promptly and synchronously. Personnel work is focused on comprehensively, from planning, training, fostering to appointment, rotation, assessment, ensuring objectivity, transparency, and compliance with procedures.
The work of detecting and handling corruption and negative acts has been directed to be implemented increasingly synchronously, drastically and effectively, especially cases under the supervision and direction of the Central Steering Committee, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and negative Affairs. The strict handling of corruption and negativity cases and cases has been approved and supported by the people and society.
The awareness and sense of responsibility of cadres and party members, especially heads of agencies, units and localities in performing public duties, has changed more positively; promptly overcome loopholes and inadequacies in state management in all fields, especially sensitive areas, prone to corruption, waste and negativity. Strengthen mass mobilization work, strengthen close relations between the Party and the People, Party committees at all levels effectively implement the regulations on mass mobilization work in the political system.
Governments at all levels have implemented many policies for socio-economic development, promoting administrative reform, enhancing dialogue, and promoting the people's mastery in all fields. The grassroots democracy regulations have been of interest to Party committees, Party organizations, authorities, sectors and all levels, creatively applying the motto "People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people supervise, people benefit" in direction and management.
The Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations innovate content and methods of operation, apply information technology in propaganda work; the quality of campaigns, patriotic emulation movements, and social charity movements is improved, promoting the strength of national solidarity. Since the beginning of the term, the whole province has mobilized the "For the Poor" fund of over 1,216 billion VND. Thereby, it has supported the construction of more than 10,000 solidarity houses; given Tet gifts, supported production, study, purchased health insurance, treated diseases... to over 120,000 poor, near-poor households, households in difficult circumstances...
The activity of giving opinions on Party building, government, supervision and social criticism is in order, with focus and key points, creating consensus within and within the people. Organized over 1,800 meetings with voters, with over 128,000 voters attending, with over 7,900 opinions.
Complete the arrangement of provincial and commune-level administrative units and deploy 2-level local governments, initially operating stably. After the merger, the new An Giang province has 102 commune-level administrative units, including 85 communes, 14 wards and 3 special zones. The organization of the government apparatus at all levels has been consolidated in the direction of streamlining, operating effectively and efficiently. People's Committees at all levels proactively innovate management and operation methods; clearly demonstrate the role of creating development, serving the people and accompanying businesses.
