In more than 37 years of construction and development, Agribank has affirmed its role as the State's key commercial bank in investing capital for the economy, especially in the "third-largest" sector. In parallel with business activities, Agribank always promotes the spirit of " banking for the community", allocating large sums of money for social and charitable activities. This is a tradition of affection and also a cultural beauty that generations of Agribank staff and employees have built and preserved.
Every year, Agribank spends 500600 billion VND on social security activities; in 2024 alone, this figure will reach nearly 700 billion VND. In the period of 2022-2024, with a budget of more than VND 1,644 billion, thousands of housing projects, schools, medical stations, disaster recovery works, environmental protection works... have been widely deployed across the country. In addition, charity programs such as giving gifts to the poor, giving scholarships to students, supporting equipment for schools, hospitals, etc. have been actively responded to by Agribank staff and employees, contributing to improving living conditions for tens of thousands of people.
Determined to promote the role of "Bank for the Community", in the first 6 months of 2025 alone, Agribank has spent more than 250 billion VND on charity activities, spreading social responsibility and fostering human values for comprehensive and sustainable development. Within the framework of the Vietnam Retail Banking Forum 2025 (September 18 in Ho Chi Minh City), Agribank continues to be honored as "Outstanding Bank for the Community", affirming the company's responsibility for social development.
The mark of a Community Bank in existing projects
With the belief that "education is the foundation of development", Agribank always prioritizes allocating large funds to build school facilities, libraries, functional classrooms, while sponsoring scholarships and supporting students in difficult circumstances. In the 3 years 2022-2024, the bank has spent more than 548 billion VND on education and training nationwide.
Typical projects that Agribank invests in with large funds in the field of education include: Thanh Tam Kindergarten (Thanh Hoa) sponsored by Agribank with 7 billion VND; Tan Binh 1 Primary School (Hau Giang, now in Can Tho City) with a total investment of 5 billion VND sponsored by Agribank with 100%; Thach Lac Kindergarten (Ha Tinh) worth 5 billion VND... At the same time, since 2020, Agribank has implemented a program to donate bookcases and learning equipment " Add more children, reduce hunger" in many remote areas lacking facilities. Investing in education is not only material support but also accompanies dreams, adding motivation for many generations of students to escape poverty.
Along with education, the health sector is also of special interest to Agribank. In the first 6 months of 2025 alone, the bank has spent more than 26 billion VND to support the purchase of medical equipment, give gifts to patients in difficulty and build medical examination and treatment facilities at district and commune levels. A typical example is the program of donating 8 artificial kidney runners and a RO water filtration system worth 5 billion VND to Lai Chau General Hospital.
In addition to material support, Agribank also accompanies voluntary blood donation campaigns, community health communication, "Child Action Month" and free medical examination and treatment programs in remote areas. In many branches such as Dak Lak, Ninh Binh, Ha Nam, Khanh Hoa..., the programs "Tet tinh yeu thuong", "Red Journey", "For beloved Truong Sa" have brought warmth to share to the border and islands.
Along with that, the activity of building houses of gratitude, solidarity houses for the poor, and policy families also left a deep impression. In the 3 years 2022-2024, Agribank spent nearly 600 billion VND on this program; in the first 6 months of 2025 alone, it was more than 46 billion VND, helping tens of thousands of households escape temporary life. The new houses not only protect against the sun and rain but also symbolize the affection and connection between the bank and the people.
Agribank donated 100 billion VND to the Singing Program to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide with the theme "Warm home for my compatriots".
Taking action for a green future
As a country heavily affected by climate change, Vietnam often faces natural disasters and floods. With the spirit of "sharing food and clothes", in the first half of 2025 alone, Agribank has spent nearly 63 billion VND to support overcoming the consequences of natural disasters in the Central and Northwest regions. Activities include building bridges for people, repairing schools, health stations, providing clean water, and living equipment for people in flooded areas, etc. These practical actions have contributed to helping people in disaster areas soon stabilize their lives, restore production and have confidence in the future.
Recognizing the impacts of climate change, Agribank proactively implements joint solutions to protect the environment, reduce emissions, and increase afforestation, contributing to the implementation of Vietnam's commitment to achieve net emissions of Networks of "0" (Net-Zero) by 2050. Accompanying the implementation of national target programs on environmental protection and climate change prevention, Agribank cooperates with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) to provide capital for projects and projects: Sustainable development of 1 million hectares of high-quality rice cultivation and low-emission reduction associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta by 2030; coastal resource projects for sustainable development; natural disaster risk management; clean water supply and rural sanitation in the Red River Delta; wind power; drought and salinity in the Mekong Delta... From Agribank's capital, many renewable energy projects, wind power, solar power have been formed, Agribank's green capital has been maintained and developed green, environmentally friendly energy projects.
Agribank provides credit capital to develop 1 million hectares of high-quality rice and reduce emissions associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta by 2030.
From 2020 to present, Agribank has launched the movement "One million trees - More trees, more life" and has been actively responded to by branches in the Agribank system. Accordingly, thousands of trees donated to many localities have conveyed the message of a "Agribank - For a Green Future".
Responding to the Government's "Project to plant 1 billion trees", Agribank has donated and organized the planting of dozens of trees in public areas in the district.
