On the morning of October 2, informing reporters, Mr. Hoang Duc Tho - Deputy Director of the Cao Bang Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board - said that the rescue force had discovered the body of the last victim in the case of a construction officer on the Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway being swept away by floodwaters.
Accordingly, the victim was identified as D.T.H (born in 1989, residing in Y Yen, Nam Dinh province), also the only female victim among the 3 people in distress. The location where the victim was found was nearly 2km from the accident site.
Previously, the two victims, N.V.T (born in 2002, from Ba Vi, Hanoi) and L.L.A.T (born in 2003, residing in Yen Lac, Na Ri, Thai Nguyen province) were also found.
Thus, as of this morning, the 3 missing victims at the Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway Construction Management Board have been found and handed over to their families for funeral arrangements.
As Lao Dong reported, on the night of September 29, floodwaters poured in too quickly, sweeping through the Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway Project Management Center, leaving 3 people missing.
Immediately after the incident (evening of September 29), the Provincial Military Command and the Provincial Police mobilized many forces and vehicles including 3 motor boats, life jackets, life buoys, etc. to organize the search.
Vice Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Hoang Van Thach was present and directed the search. After that, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hai Hoa and Secretary of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee Quan Minh Cuong were also present to inspect and encourage the victim's family.
During the recent flood, in Cao Bang, 5 people died, including a 6-day-old newborn baby buried in rocks and soil; 3 people were injured.
More than 4,200 households were affected, nearly 3,500 houses were deeply flooded, hundreds of roofs were blown off and damaged. Over 5,000 hectares of rice, crops, seafood and livestock were swept away. More than 200 landslides, nearly 50 sections of flooded roads, overflow bridges and bridges were damaged, isolating many areas.
Traffic on many routes was cut off, 390 rural roads and 8 bridges were severely damaged; electricity systems, schools, irrigation works, health facilities, and agency headquarters were damaged. The total estimated damage is over 750 billion VND.
