The agreement aims for Evolution Data Centres (EDC) to purchase green energy from solar and wind power projects developed by BIM Energy (a member of BIM Group), serving the estimated demand of 50100 MW for data centers in Ho Chi Minh City with a total estimated investment of about 500 million USD.
DPPA A practical step for Vietnam's green digital infrastructure
According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the two sides will coordinate in evaluating technical and commercial options to implement DPPA, allowing EDC's data center to purchase renewable energy directly from BIM Energy via the national power system. This is one of the pioneering efforts to connect domestic energy producers with international digital infrastructure operators, in the context of Vietnam's goal of developing RTTDL, cloud and AI in a low-emission direction. When combining the clean energy advantages of Vietnam and DPPA, the country has more conditions to attract global technology capital, while ensuring energy security for digital transformation.
Mr. Darren Webb, Co-founder and CEO of EDC, said: We are excited to cooperate with BIM Energy to ensure EDC customers have large-scale access to renewable energy - a prerequisite for any cloud or AI operator in Vietnam. Combining the advantages of natural clean energy with capable partners such as BIM Energy will create opportunities to promote emission reduction and build sustainable data infrastructure in the region.

Market analysis shows that Vietnam is emerging as a new tourist destination in Southeast Asia thanks to its connecting location, young workforce and renewable energy potential. The BIM Energy - EDC cooperation model demonstrates concrete steps to meet the increasing electricity demand of digital infrastructure, while maintaining ESG standards. If mechanisms such as DPPA are strongly promoted, Vietnam can move towards the role of a green digital infrastructure hub in the region in the next decade.
BIM Energy Green capacity for international e-commerce standards
BIM Energy currently operates more than 500 MW of solar and wind power, with an output of nearly 1 billion kWh/year, equivalent to the needs of about 300,000 households. The renewable energy complex in Ninh Thuan - a circular economy complex between salt, solar power and wind power - is recognized as one of the effective models in Vietnam. The enterprise aims to increase the total operating and development capacity to at least 1,700 MW by 2027, in accordance with the requirements of stable power source - large scale - ESG standards for modern digital transformation.
Mr. Nguyen Hai Vinh, General Director of BIM Energy, emphasized: Cooperation with EDC is an important step forward in BIM's strategy of turning BIM's wind power and solar power projects into a clean energy source for Vietnam's digital infrastructure. In the coming time, we will expand cooperation with power purchasing partners under the DPPA mechanism, thereby diversifying customers alongside EVN and increasing sustainability in business operations." According to Mr. Vinh, DPPA opens up double benefits: helping international corporations meet green energy standards, while ensuring that domestic renewable energy projects are exploited effectively.

BIM Group Determined with a vision for sustainable development
After 31 years, BIM Group has adhered to the long-term investment philosophy, linking growth with respect for the environment and local communities. In its energy strategy, BIM considers renewable energy as the backbone of the future economy and a piece of the cake that helps Vietnam participate more deeply in the global digital technology value chain. Cooperation with EDC demonstrates this direction: from a wind power - solar power developer, BIM Energy is becoming a clean power supply partner for digital transformation and AI infrastructure - areas that determine national competitiveness for many decades to come.
