
According to the memorandum of understanding, the two units will accompany in 05 key areas: (i) Promoting digital payments; (ii) Supporting capital sources for e-commerce; (iii) Increasing the base of corporate and retail customers participating in e-commerce; (iv) Accompanying in events promoting e-commerce and digital transformation; (v) Promoting ESG practices. At the same time, BIDV is committed to continuing to promote its pioneering role in providing smart, safe and efficient financial services, closely coordinating with the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy in implementing solutions to increase the proportion of commercial activities in the digital space, enhance efficiency and make transparent operations for online businesses for organizations and individuals, thereby promoting growth and bringing positive values to the Vietnamese economy.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Tran Long - Deputy General Director of BIDV - said: In recent times, the Vietnamese e-commerce market has had strong development with a growth rate of 18% - 25% per year and the value has reached 25 billion USD in 2024. With the important role of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy in the digital transformation of businesses, BIDV wishes to continue to be a partner to promote e-commerce activities and promote digital transformation and green transformation in the economy.
Currently, BIDV has pioneered the implementation of banking solutions to support diverse customer needs on e-commerce platforms, including: Modern digital payment solutions (eCom online payment portal, B2B payment portal, BIDV QR); Flexible SME Fast track account packages along with options for loan support packages with attractive interest rates, quick procedures, and open banking ecosystem ( Open API) connecting banking services on sales management platforms and interconnecting with e-commerce platforms.

Ms. Le Hoang Oanh, Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, emphasized: We are committed to closely coordinating with BIDV in connecting with relevant partners to deploy digital payment solutions, pilot the application of digital payments in traditional markets, and promote the connection of traditional markets with digital platforms in e-commerce. At the same time, the Department will accompany and coordinate with BIDV to organize events such as programs, conferences, seminars on digital transformation, green transformation and trade promotion events to raise awareness and skills in applying e-commerce, digital payments for businesses and small traders...

In addition, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy will support BIDV to promote e-commerce activities for 22 million individual and 500,000 corporate customers.
As a representative of a business participating in e-commerce activities, Mr. Nguyen Lam Thanh from TikTok Vietnam said: "The cooperation activities of the two units will actively support individuals and small and medium-sized enterprises to improve digital skills, financial and legal knowledge and bring convenient products and services to help Vietnamese enterprises take advantage of the advantages of the Internet and e-commerce".
This cooperation is also an important touchpoint, supporting e-commerce platforms to increase the number of users, increase financial utilities, towards a more diverse and increasingly expanded digital ecosystem. Thereby, it will create strong incentives for the development of e-commerce in Vietnam, contributing to the realization of the national goal of a digital economy.
