On January 23, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long had a working session with EVNCPC on ensuring electricity supply for the Lunar New Year.
At the meeting, Mr. Ngo Tan Cu - General Director of EVNCPC presented a detailed report on plans to ensure electricity to serve more than 4.8 million customers in 13 provinces and cities in the Central and Central Highlands regions during the Lunar New Year.
Accordingly, EVNCPC has synchronously deployed many solutions to maintain a safe and continuous power source, such as reviewing the entire power supply plan, strengthening inspection and maintenance of the power grid system to prevent incidents, arranging 24/7 on-duty forces at all units, and reasonably mobilizing renewable energy sources, especially in areas with high demand.
At the same time, EVNCPC also maintains timely communication channels between member units and the Central Power System Control Center.
During the Lunar New Year holidays (from January 25, 2025, the 26th day of the Lunar New Year, to February 2, 2025, the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), EVNCPC commits not to stop or reduce power supply, causing power outages for customers, except for incident handling cases.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ngo Son Hai - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), highly appreciated the careful preparation of EVNCPC and requested the unit to continue to closely monitor customer activities, coordinate closely with investors and related units to mobilize renewable energy sources and small hydropower in a reasonable manner.
He also emphasized that EVNCPC needs to comprehensively review fire prevention and fighting work and ensure safety at power projects during Tet.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long acknowledged and commended the proactiveness, positivity, and creativity of EVN and EVNCPC in planning, arranging human resources, and means to ensure continuous power supply during the Lunar New Year.
He emphasized that, in addition to serving Tet, EVNCPC needs to ensure no interruption in all electricity preparations to meet the electricity development requirements for the Central region and the whole country.
The Deputy Minister assessed that the 2025 task is very heavy, requiring the electricity industry to "go one step ahead" to ensure sufficient electricity supply for economic development as required by the Central Government.
On the same day, a working delegation of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long inspected the Central Power System Dispatch Center and Thuan Phuoc 110kV Transformer Station.
Here, the delegation listened to a report on the operation of the power system, checked the on-duty regime and evaluated measures to ensure safe operation of the power grid during Tet.
