Hanoi Electricity Corporation (EVNHANOI) warns of the risk of a sudden increase in household electricity bills due to increased demand for household electricity, especially for cooling equipment such as air conditioners, refrigerators, etc.

Accordingly, information from EVNHANOI said that, through grasping the unit's situation since the beginning of April, the level of electricity consumption of households is increasing rapidly.

The main reason is that the weather is starting to turn hot, the temperature is higher, making people tend to use air conditioners and cooling equipment with more frequency, and for longer periods of the day.

In addition, during peak hours, many families use many large-capacity appliances such as magnetic stoves, washing machines, and hot water machines at the same time, causing great pressure on the power system and causing the bill to increase dramatically.

To help people be more proactive in controlling electricity consumption, limiting the "escalating" of electricity bills, EVNHANOI recommends that customers, agencies and production places join hands to use electricity economically and effectively, turn off unnecessary electrical equipment.

In particular, customers should limit the use of high-capacity equipment during peak hours of electricity consumption from 10:00 ÷ 14:00 and from 19:00 ÷ 23:00 every day; do not use many electrical appliances at the same time to avoid overloading the power grid while also taking precautions against the risks of fire and explosion of the power grid, power stations and residential areas.

Along with the use of energy-saving devices: Prioritize products with high-performance energy labels (energy headlights), switch to using LED bulbs, investor air conditioners...

In addition, customers can easily track their daily and monthly electricity consumption through the EVNHANOI application ( app) on their mobile phone or the EVNHANOI website.

In the "Search for meters", customers can track the meters on the electricity meter and know the daily and monthly electricity consumption of the family.

In particular, in the " Consumption functionality" feature, customers can also set a warning threshold for electricity use. Just by selecting "Alarming output measure (kWh)" or "increase electricity output ratio compared to the previous month" customers can set a number (kWh) or a ratio (%) to want to be warned.

This can be considered one of the "revolutionary" features when electricity users can know exactly how much electricity their family has used each day, thereby planning for more optimal and economical electricity use.

According to statistics from EVNHANOI, in the first 3 months of 2025, the electricity savings of EVNHANOI's domestic customers reached 56,588,966 kWh, down 10,164,492 kWh compared to the same period in 2024 (66,753,458 kWh), a decrease of about 15.2%. This is an encouraging result from programs to encourage efficient use of electricity and demonstrates the people's participation in adjusting their reasonable electricity consumption habits.
