These are key traffic routes that directly connect Long Thanh International Airport with National Highway 51, Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway and neighboring areas of Dong Nai province.
According to Lao Dong, on route T1 - a road section of more than 4 km long connecting Long Thanh airport with National Highway 51 - many items such as overpasses, road surfaces and drainage systems have been basically completed. The construction unit is paving asphalt, installing railings and lane division lines to complete the final stages.
In addition, route T2 - connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway with route T1 - is also being accelerated. This route has now reached more than 76% of the construction volume. The foundation and layer of cement concrete have been completed, contractors are focusing on asphalt pavement, construction of drainage ditches and curbs. The goal is to complete in July to connect synchronously with route T1 in September.
Package 6.12 includes the construction of two routes T1 and T2 with a total value of more than VND 2,630 billion, implemented by a consortium of contractors under Deo Ca Group from July 2023. Although the contract recorded a construction period of 885 days, the units mobilized more than 800 personnel, more than 200 equipment and machinery, divided into 20 teams, working in 3 shifts and 4 teams to shorten the progress. It is expected that the entire package will be completed and opened to traffic on the occasion of the September 2 holiday, nearly 3 months ahead of schedule.
In addition to the two new routes T1 and T2 invested by the Project Management Board of Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), the two existing routes including Ton Duc Thang (25B) and Nguyen Ai Quoc (25C) passing through Nhon Trach district were also assigned by the People's Committee of Dong Nai province to accelerate the expansion and upgrading of the project to synchronize the infrastructure connecting to Long Thanh airport.
Road 25B has been paved with final asphalt, installed with lighting and traffic lights. Route 25C - the section of Nguyen Ai Quoc Street - is also at more than 80% of the progress, expected to be handed over in August, 4 months ahead of schedule compared to the end of 2025.
These 4 routes, once completed, will contribute to completing the transport infrastructure system of the key economic region in the South, playing a key role in the operation of Long Thanh airport and the development of the urban - industrial areas of Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City.
