On the afternoon of November 14, at the 2nd National Forum on Digital Economy and Digital Society Development, Mr. Luan Quoc Hung - Deputy General Director of EVNHCMC - presented a paper on "Developing smart grids and implementing digital transformation to improve the quality of electricity distribution services and labor productivity at EVNHCMC".
The presentation showed that in just the past 5 years, EVNHCMC has achieved many outstanding results in all aspects of operation thanks to the application of science and technology, development of smart grids and comprehensive digital transformation.
In operation management, EVNHCMC has automated 100% of the Ho Chi Minh City power grid with 2 power system control centers, 100% of 110kV stations operating in unmanned mode, 100% of medium voltage grids are remotely controlled and fully automatically operated, SCADA/DMS power grid operation management software, OMS online power outage management, power outage maps on geographic information platform.
In asset management, EVNHCMC has used a series of software such as PMIS, GIS, CBM to manage equipment information such as technical parameters, maintenance and testing history; manage the power grid with 100% high/medium/low voltage grid data; diagnose and maintain important high/medium voltage equipment according to operating conditions. This has increased the performance and reliability of equipment, increased the life of assets, saved manpower and operational management costs, ensured system safety and better risk management.
In work management, EVNHCMC also uses digital applications such as digital office, HRMS human resource management, E-leaning electronic training, BI smart reporting, online safety monitoring (Livestream). EVNHCMC is also deploying the Construction Site Management application, AI Camera to monitor and manage 24/7 construction workers on site, using drones to inspect the power grid. Thereby shortening the document processing process, optimizing human resources, vehicles, equipment, and improving safety for workers.
In customer service, EVNHCMC has soon completed the installation of smart meters for 100% of electricity customers; 100% of customer services are provided online; nearly 100% of electricity bills are paid electronically. At the same time, EVNHCMC has put into operation a multi-channel switchboard and Web 360 so that customers can choose the type of service and service provider through the capacity assessment index of each employee.
According to Mr. Hung, thanks to the drastic development of smart grid and comprehensive digital transformation, EVNHCMC has continuously improved the quality of electricity supply and customer service, enhanced corporate governance capacity and labor productivity.
The results of EVNHCMC's smart grid development and digital transformation have been recognized domestically and internationally, such as: ASEAN Innovative Enterprise Award 2022 presented by the Asia IoT Business Forum (AIBP); In 2024, it received the "Smart Grid Project of the Year" Award at the Asian Power Week - Enlit ASIA and the "Automation in Smart Grid" category award from Power Magazine, USA.
