In order to minimize electrical incidents during the rainy and stormy season, these days, officers and workers of Duyen Hai Power Company, under EVNHCMC, regularly inspect transformer stations, power lines, upgrade and renovate the power system, ensuring safe and continuous power supply to serve the production and daily needs of the people.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Sang - employee of the Power Grid Management Team, Duyen Hai Power Company (under EVNHCMC) - said: "The company's leaders always pay attention to preventing power grid incidents and ensuring safety in power supply. They regularly direct workers to check and clear, trim, and trim green trees in the power grid safety corridor of 22kV lines, with a frequency of 2-3 times/week".
Mr. Tran Dinh Nam - Deputy Technical Director of Duyen Hai Power Company - said. "From the beginning of the year, the unit has been carrying out a comprehensive review and inspection of the power grid in key areas and areas at risk of flooding to develop a plan to handle the power grid according to each priority level."
Mr. Bui Trung Kien - Deputy General Director of EVNHCMC - said: "From the beginning of the year, EVNHCMC has made a plan to ensure safe power supply as well as prevent electrical accidents for people in the city during the rainy and stormy season. From March and April 2024, EVNHCMC has increased inspection and review, especially in areas susceptible to extreme weather (rain, storms, flooding, waterlogging) to promptly handle and overcome risks (if any) in May and June 2024".
EVNHCMC also signed a coordination regulation with the Technical Infrastructure Management Center - Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction in the work of taking care of trees and ensuring the safety of the power grid in Ho Chi Minh City. Currently, member power companies and related departments are focusing on implementing the proposed plans. In particular, maintaining regular propaganda about electrical safety to residential areas that are easily affected by negative impacts such as areas prone to flooding, landslides, etc.
People are not allowed to take shelter from the rain at the foot of electric poles, under the eaves of transformer stations, do not climb electric poles, cross fences, power stations, or touch the pole wires. Circuit breakers, fuses, circuit breakers, switches, and sockets in the home must be placed in dry places, preferably in high positions, to ensure the safety of children and to avoid electric leakage when heavy rain causes flooding.
EVNHCMC also recommends that people, when there is a storm, heavy rain, strong wind, or flooding, should stay away from power lines and power stations to prevent broken power lines, fallen power poles, causing fires, explosions, and electrical leaks. When a power pole or power line falls down, do not approach or hold the broken power line, prevent other people and animals from approaching, and immediately notify the electricity industry via hotline 1900 545454 and the nearest local authority.
