The program is co-sponsored by Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade and Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.

Speaking at the opening of the forum, Mr. Bui Nguyen Hung - Chairman of VCCA - emphasized: “The digital age and the internet bring countless opportunities, helping users easily access literary and artistic works and audio and video recordings anywhere and anytime. However, at the same time, this also poses a great challenge in protecting copyright and encouraging the sustainable development of the creative and cultural industries”.
Referring to the current situation, Mr. Le Minh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Copyright Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that the awareness of law enforcement on copyright and related rights is not high. Creative elements are not interested in protecting their legitimate rights and interests. The rapid and complex development of technology, especially in the digital environment, leads to increasingly complex infringement of copyright and related rights.
Dr. Le Doan Hop, former Minister of Information and Communications, stressed that copyright is not only a legal issue, but also “a moral, cultural and intellectual issue of a nation”. He expressed concern that many creators do not receive the respect and benefits they deserve, while business people reap huge profits from these intellectual products. Raising awareness of intellectual property rights is necessary to protect the nation’s intellectual property and prevent brain drain.
Copyright protection in the digital environment, although challenging, is indispensable to building a sustainable knowledge economy. VCCA is committed to continuing to accompany businesses and creators to promote creativity and copyright protection, contributing to building a healthy, creative and sustainable business environment.

The Business Forum on Copyright and Knowledge Protection in Vietnam is a big step forward in the country’s journey to protect intellectual property. With the commitment from VCCA and the support of state agencies, the forum will be a bridge to help businesses, creators and management agencies better understand the importance of copyright and intellectual property protection, thereby building a healthy creative ecosystem, contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam’s economy in the future.
