In the first half of 2026, Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) completed and exceeded the planned targets, making an important contribution to ensuring national energy security.

Overcoming market "storms", ensuring national energy security

In the first half of 2026, the world energy picture witnessed many profound fluctuations. The escalating geopolitical conflict in the Middle East strongly impacted the market, causing disruption to the global energy supply chain and directly affecting the arrangement of gas product supply (LPG, LNG) as well as the Corporation's international business operations. In that challenging context, PV GAS remains steadfast in its double-digit growth target, accompanying Petrovietnam's common goal and the country's development aspirations in the new period.

In order to realize the set goals in the context of a volatile market, PV GAS has promoted proactiveness and flexibility in management and operation; optimized system operation, flexibility in business and focused on implementing key projects, especially LNG infrastructure. PV GAS has made efforts to arrange 545 million Sm3 of LNG to compensate for the domestic gas shortage, meeting the needs of power plants during the peak dry season as directed by the Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade; and at the same time shifted direction and diversified LPG supply sources from markets outside the Middle East such as Australia, the United States and Southeast Asia, supplying about 420 thousand tons of LPG to the domestic market, contributing to ensuring energy security and market stability.

Along with effectively taking advantage of oil price and stock price movements, PV GAS has completed and exceeded the 6-month plan, maintaining growth momentum compared to the same period in key indicators of gas production, LPG/LNG business output, revenue and profit.

In addition, construction investment work is also being actively implemented with the disbursement value of the Parent Company reaching nearly 1.9 trillion VND. PV GAS focuses on implementing key projects: Vung Ang LNG warehouse project; Su Tu Trang gas collection and transportation pipeline project and PV GAS - Hai Phong port warehouse project.

The achieved results continue to affirm PV GAS's core role in the gas value chain, ensuring national energy security, and at the same time making positive contributions to Petrovietnam's overall production and business results and the country's socio-economic development goals.

Creating new motivation, determination to complete 2026 goals

The second half of 2026 is forecast to be a difficult journey for PV GAS. The downward trend of oil prices, the slow recovery of the international business segment, along with reduced gas consumption demand during the rainy season, are posing difficult problems. In addition, pressure from the progress of key projects and investment capital disbursement plans requires businesses to make even greater efforts.

To complete the 2026 plan targets and continue to accompany Petrovietnam in implementing the growth target, PV GAS will focus on closely monitoring market developments, proactively managing production and business in a flexible and efficient direction; drastically and synchronously implementing solutions on production and business and construction investment; accelerating the progress of key projects, especially LNG infrastructure projects, ensuring the completion of investment capital disbursement plans.

At the same time, the Corporation continues to innovate governance work, thoroughly grasp the policy of strengthening decentralization and delegation of power associated with improving responsibility, strengthening inspection, supervision and risk control, creating motivation to improve operational efficiency at all levels.

Sharing key solutions in the last 6 months of the year, PV GAS leaders said that the Corporation will focus on market development, considering this as the top priority; continue to expand gas and LNG consumption, gradually restore international business operations, deeply integrate the supply - logistics - service chain, increase PV GAS's comprehensive competitiveness; strengthen chain links inside and outside Petrovietnam.

With the "infrastructure goes one step ahead" strategy, PV GAS continues to promote investment to create development space for the next period. In which, PV GAS will focus resources on implementing LNG and strategic infrastructure projects such as Vung Ang LNG warehouse project; Thi Vai LNG storage facility expansion and capacity increase project to 3 million tons/year; PV GAS - Hai Phong warehouse project and other strategic infrastructure projects, striving to complete the annual disbursement plan.

Along with the above solutions, businesses proactively seek upstream investment opportunities and implement appropriate M&A deals to expand their product portfolios. This direction not only increases the core value of the business but also enhances resilience to unpredictable fluctuations from the international market. In particular, to create new growth drivers, PV GAS focuses on promoting innovation, applying science and technology, implementing comprehensive digital transformation to improve management quality and optimize operational efficiency. The comprehensive restructuring process will continue to be strongly implemented to build a modern, transparent and flexible management system, suitable for the role and stature of a regional-scale energy business.

PV GAS's leadership affirmed that all strategic solutions can only reach the finish line successfully based on the inherent strength of people. Therefore, the entire PV GAS system will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, maintain unity in leadership and operation, and at the same time create high consensus according to the motto "One team, one goal" to successfully complete the tasks assigned by Petrovietnam.

The results achieved in the first 6 months of 2026 are the foundation and motivation for PV GAS to continue striving to achieve the highest goals and tasks of the 2026 plan. With a vision and development orientation associated with Petrovietnam's growth strategy and the country's development goals for the period 2026 - 2030, PV GAS is determined to maintain sustainable growth momentum, improve competitiveness, develop a modern gas and LNG industry ecosystem, and gradually realize the goal of becoming one of the 30 largest enterprises in Southeast Asia (Fortune Southeast Asia 30) by 2030; thereby actively contributing to Petrovietnam's Fortune Global 500 target.
