The member unit is 100% owned by Shell plc Group for the period 2027 - 2031. The contract is the result of Package 01 of LNG purchases organized by PV GAS, completing the supplier selection process by the end of 2025, and also marking the first time a LNG contract has been signed to supply to Vietnam.
With the signing of this contract, PV GAS becomes the first Vietnamese enterprise to fully meet the conditions to participate in negotiations and sign a limited LNG purchase and sale contract according to the standards and practices of the international LNG market. This is not only an important milestone in the process of developing the domestic LNG market but also contributes to realizing the Government's policy on diversifying stable and long-term energy supply sources, contributing to ensuring national energy security and meeting fuel demand for electricity production as well as economic development.
As one of the world's leading LNG business groups, Shell achieved a total delivered output of over 72.9 million tons in 2025 and has a lot of experience in implementing long-term supply contracts. Previously, in July 2023, Shell was also the first LNG shipment supplier to Vietnam to serve the trial run of PV GAS's Thi Vai LNG Storage, opening the LNG import phase of Vietnam.
Shell Eastern LNG is selected through a wide, public, transparent and competitive international bidding process, in accordance with international practices. The procurement package attracts the participation of many reputable energy enterprises in the world, including leading corporations in the LNG sector. The selection results not only affirm the attractiveness of the Vietnamese LNG market but also reflect the increasing prestige, capacity and position of PV GAS in the international LNG supply chain.
The completion of the supplier selection process and signing of the LNG purchase and sale contract for the period 2027 - 2031 continues to affirm PV GAS's progress in the process of deep integration into the regional and international LNG supply chain. On that basis, PV GAS will continue to promote its pioneering role in developing the LNG market in Vietnam, proactively diversifying supply sources, optimizing business efficiency and making positive contributions to the goal of sustainable development and ensuring national energy security.
